Size of Oil Sep

Does the size of an Oil Sep impact obtainable temps in a cascade?

Im asking because I have a very large Temprite 505 and id like to use it in a cascade but I dont want to negatively impact temps in anyway and this sucker is 18 inches tall...

http://www.temprite.com/downloads/sizing_500-600.pdf

The in and out will have to be reduced from 1 3/8 to 3/8...
