Single Stage Phase - Improvments
Hi guys ,
I have a Phase change that i have built a few years ago.
My Phase System includes: NL11F , Chilly1 Evap, Small condencer and Filled with R507.
A month ago my Flex Pipe was broken and since i'm fixing the system i want to Improve it.
I intend to keep using only R507.
Here's a pic of the Parts:
and here is the System Finished (few years):

How can i improve my System ???
Should i change to a Bigger Compressor ?
Bigger condencer ??
Maybe replacing them Both to a bigger ?
Maybe shorting the Cap tube ?? I have 90 Inches of 0.028
Waiting for your professional help .

So, you can put in there a bigger compressor from looking at the second picture.
The condenser, you will need a bigger one, or you can do like me use 2 one in the front and the second inthe back, air is getting out at the compressor on the sides.
Bigger and beter evap?
A bit larger diametre flex line, i guess.
About the capillar you need to tell us what you wanna cool!

Just upgrade the condenser, better insulation and fans.

That is really a nice looking unit there
Have you thought about building a new unit as it seems you are looking at replacing a few parts that may not fit all nice in that case ?

if it was me i would just change the condensor, fans, cap tube and then replace the flex line and this time use one that has braid over it and it sould not brake again u should get at least 250watts at -25c to -30c with that compressor maybe better the nf11f is a good compressor i have used the nf series from the 7's to the 11's and never had one problem getting them to hold a good load with the right fan and condensor

I would throw a chilly1 little blue condenser in there, they are quite inexpensive and it is the newer and a little bigger version of what you have yet it should still fit in the case. The compressor and evap are still quite good

Thanks guys , i made the case myself .
About the fans - i have 3 Fans in that case (1000RPM): 1 front, rear and up . thought this will be enough
1. TYBER ! can you upload a Picture of this "Blue Condencer ??
2. About Cap tube: i have 90 Inches of 0.028 Cap - what should i do?? short it? replace to what size and length?
3. About the Evap: I tought that Chilly1's Evap is the best there is - isn't it ?? (i have Rev E of his evap from 2005).
I also got a few days ago the new Chily1 evap 2009 version from "Under-the-Ice" Store
And i'm thinking about building another system with the 2009 version.
4. Which Compressor do you reccomend for strong SS with R507??
I can buy Danfos, LG or embraco - give me a few Compressor models for the new system.
Gas will be also R507, I inted to use it for I7 - 6 cores that will be coming .

This is a Chilly1 Little Blue condensor:
The length of your captube determined by your heatload and superheat.
The i7 cpu's generate quite some heat and I'm thinking the 2009 version will be better able to cope with the large heatload than the 2005 version.
And you can choose from a lot of compressors, but a Danfoss NL11F gives a good trade off between cooling power and noise.
To which extent is noise an issue? And you are in Europe, I guess... so 220V and 50Hz.

the chilly1 2009 is the same evaporator that you have just with a new mounting made by duniek i believe.
You can see the little blue here
http://www.teyberdesign.com/category/condensers
Stick with your nl11... its like a perfect size/performance/noise compressor for a cased ss like that. If you want you should build another ss and use a fat rotary compressor and that new evap you got.
cheers

TYBER - which compressor for the New system - the NL11F isn't quiet (is it ??)
I don't mind to buy a Noiser compressor than the NL11f
BUT - which model will give me a big difference than the NL11f ??
Can you give me models (DANFOSS SC18GM. EMBRACEO ...) ??
I have also a Condencer like this :
If i will put this condncer instead the small condencer i have , With the NL11F
Will i see a big difference in Load or temp ??

well u could goto the sc18 by danfoss but my self would just stick with the nf11f now for the condensor if u are wanting to hold a big load i am not to sure the little blue one will be up to it but i really can't say as i have only ever used one of them. what type of temps and load handleing are u looking to get

I recognize that picture, that's my benching keyboard and my old Rampage Extreme
I'd suggest sticking with that NL11 compressor, the NF/NL series is by far one of the best compressor lines for quiet performance. A larger condenser with a larger fan will help reject more heat and lower compressor and system temperatures but at the expense of more noise. It seems as of late I've been suggesting this to a lot of people though, don't rebuild that unit as it looks rather nicely put together. If you have the ability to do the work yourself in the long run I think you'll gain more out of building a second stronger unit and selling/keeping that first one. Just a thought, take it how you will

I decided to Replace the Condencer +Fans (i have bigger one) and Stay with NL11F (and R507).
But i still have Two BIG Questions:
1. Which Captube - Length and Size are best for I7 ??
2. My Cap tube is 90 Inches and 0.028 - if i will Shorten this - will it give me more Load ? Lower Temps ??
Waiting for Answers !!

I would go for sc21cl, or anything big that fits that case. I prefer to see my cpu temp with minus when the 6cores comes out.
Shorter cap tube will give you more capacity, and a bit highet temps, BUT your temps will be more steady.

If you use that condenser it would help but then you couldn't use your case
and a danfoss sc15 sc18 sc21 would all be great compressors

You mean to shorten it in about 7.5 Inches (90-7.5=82.5 Inches) ??
