Operation window unit.."my cheap skate phase build"...((56K Murder))

(Revised)..Im planing on turning heads with this project..The whole phase system including the compressor will be painted white and 2 shades of blue to match my motherboard and theme..The whole system will be built to fit inside of my case...its gona be sexy thats why im taking my time so its done Clean and Correct while also staying at a budget..Got a 24lb keg of R134A for free all compressors condensers and some misc copper tubing are salvaged to keep the cost low..most of the tools I already had spent $30 on some hand tools...filter dryer $10..cap tube $10..misc copper parts $20..chilly one evap block $50..flexible suction line $30 ((Total as of now is around $150))

schrader valves with 1/4 3/8 stems
1/4 and 3/8 inch refrigeration grade copper tubing
10 foot of Capillary Tubing..Size: .081 O.D. X .031 I.D.
24 inch flexible bronze suction line with brazed copper ends http://www.under-the-ice.com/product...products_id=55
18% silver brazing rods
supco bullet style filter dryer
I have two LG electronics rotary compressors QA090CBC...I may or may not use this compressor i have some bigger window AC,s i may chop one up if the compressor looks better..all compressor,s and condensers Are salvaged from AC,s to keep the cost of the project down
Chilly 1 evaporator block http://www.under-the-ice.com/product...roducts_id=126 "i havent ordered this yet" tried to make my own evaporator but i just dont have the tools needed to fabricate a descent evap block from a solid piece of copper "so the one i made came out like crap" so im going to buy a pre made evaporator probably the chilly 1 for $50
24LB keg or R134A refrigerant

yea..got it for free its worth at least $200..thats what really started the whole project...ive been slacking off i have to order the chilly 1 evap block still "as my final part i need to complete the phase unit"...and im also waiting on hicookie to send me a bios and directions on how to do a simple hard mod on "Gigabyte x58 series motherboards" to break the bclk wall by lifting the 100mhz limitation on the pci-e frequency..(theres a whole thread about it here on XS....people that couldnt even break 190mhz bclk are pushing 220mhz+ BCLK all day long after they did the hard mod and flashed hicookies bios)....so right now im stuck 200mhz bclk x 21 = 4.2 ghz on my 920 D0..so phase change wont help me unless i can break the wall on my motherboard as of now its running on water.....im planing on turning heads with this project..the whole phase system incldung the compressor will be painted white and 2 shades of blue to match my motherboard and theme...the whole system will be built to fit inside of my case to...its gona be sexy thats why im taking my time so its done Clean and Correct while also staying at a budget

Hmmm is this called 'my cheap skate" because nothing about this build is cheap!. I am a fanboy of duct/gaffa tape and cap'n'cap evaporators using some ancient fridge compressor your grandmother didn't need anymore.

Good luck with the build

hey you can always buy a pre made unit for $600+ ...im building this with scrap air conditioners for condensers-compressors and scrap copper..i have $150 total cost in the build...if you think of a better cheaper way? Im all ears...also theres no way around needing a descent torch and tools..you have to do things right or your have a computer desk full of freon "or worse" when your unit explodes because your brazed joints were sub-par unable to hold the high PSI these units need to run correctly

i think that if u were to not use the r134a and use r290 (propain) u will see much better temps as r134a is not a low temp gas i have tride it befor and i found that it is not a good gas for real minus temps

Yea heard using propane gets low temps...but i also heard it can be dangerous you can also shoot propane into the intake manifold of your diesel motor and get huge horse power gains "like using nitrous oxide"......any way i have a gas grill in the back yard I may consider your advise...but id be happy with -20c on a quad with r134a...have no idea what hp rating my compressor is..i have some bigger AC units im going to check out the compressors they have inside
