Silverstone 180mm Fans *Pics*

Want to confirm my findings here guys before I make a purchase.

I currently have a silverstone ft01bw it comes with 2 180mm fans. I am looking to replace them for some bigger beefier ones and silverstone has come out with a new model the FM181.
http://www.silverstonetek.com/produc...FM181&area=usa

This fan has a fan controller that it comes with that will set it to 1300rpm.

I want to be able to use 2 of these fans without the fan controller and put them on my own scythe kaze master ace (http://www.frozencpu.com/products/83...-BK.html#blank)

So I talked to silverstone support and they sent me this pic

He stated that the 2 pin connector must be connected to provide the 1300 rpm.. the 2 pin connects to the fan controller at the top of the pic. So what im wondering is can I get a 2 pin to 3 pin connector and run it to the scythe fan controller.. or could I just connect the standard 3 pin that comes with it to the fan controller and it should control the fan..

What do you guys think?

Yes I don't see why not. You will not get RPM monitoring support.

Well, hook it up and see, as long as the fan doesn't draw more current than the Scythe controller can handle you won't damage anything.

But yeah you ought to just be able to hook up the 3 pin connector to the Scythe controller - it's just a regular 12V connector for the motor like any fan. That is unless the fan *requires* the 2 pin connector to run at all although that would be strange. If so is that what the little 2 pin jumper is for?
