Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm 1850rpm

Has anyone heard about stock on these? More rather... has anyone heard the proposed date of production?

I'm really jonesin for these fans. I could go 1450rpm but I'd rather the 1850. Even the 1450's are getting rare.

cheers

I've been looking for the 1850s on and off for a while now. I'd need 4 or 5 of em and still can't find any, so for now I'll be using some old yates

I replaced 800 by 1450 and found quite significant decrease of temperatures. Not to mention that they are connected to fan controller and never runs at 1450 (800 was not enough).

I wanted to get the 1850's and keep them at ~1100, only turning them up when loading my system. What controllers have you guys been using with these?

I'm using a Zalman ZM-MFC2
I love it, it looks great, works good. It's a little more about "show" than "function", but it works well enough. I thikn I'm going to ditch it when I put the Rad + Fans + Shroud in there though. There's enough space with 2 (of 3) free 5.25" bays but half of one fan would blow directly onto the fan controller. not very effecient.
I might get a 3.5" bay controller instead. Kinda limited choices there, though

I've been running my 1450's at 800rpm and turn them all the way up when i game
they're much quieter than the old antec's that i had to keep 1800-3000rpm

In stock here as well: http://www.anartik.com/scge12mm3pin.html

They're smaller but reliable imo. I ordered some fan clips the other day from them and it came quickly with good shipping rates.

Thanks Lars. Just ordered 2 with fan clips for my Mugen2. I tried to order more than 2 but it wouldn't let me. Low stock?

Hmm interesting... I'd doubt it as it looks like they just got 'em in... unless they've been selling that quickly. Maybe try to email them, the owner runs a blog and keeps it updated semi-frequently so you'd probably get a response.

The best noise to performance ratio in Martin's tests, mainly.

Sidewinder has them in stock. But it looks like the price just went up. Glad I ordered mine a few days ago.

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/scge120mmsic2.html

These fans have a really good sound profile when installed on radiators. Also, they don't make any noise at all when using the lamptron fc-2. My scythe s-flex G fans made a horrible whining noise on that controller.

I replaced some fairly loud panaflo mediums with them. The loss of cooling wasn't too drastic (no particular figures there) and the lack of motor noise was very evident.

it's like night and day how quiet my computer is now. I can hear the din of my pumps now, and they're really quiet.

I ordered two of these too, from sidewinder as they were the only place in stock. Unfortunately I got hit with the price bump, but it's not that bad. Anyway going silent myself as well, getting a Rheobus and two Zalman ZM-F3s for case fans. Also, getting a Seasonic X750. Should be prettttty quiet here soon

I just ordered another set of 5 the 1450's for my second rig. Those antec tricools have finally got to go. I'm putting a pair on my TRU120E so we'll see how that goes. They'll be replacing a pair of s-flex G's. If it's too hot, I might have to get another pair of 1850's on it.

An update too: my 2 mcp355's are getting loud for me. And they sound exactly as quiet as they're supposed to. That's funny as they never bothered me until I got the GT's. Yay scythe, you scored a home run this time.
