Connecting 285 GTX SLI

Ok, started putting together my new build tonight and looks like I made yet another mistake with fittings. I have an eVGA X58 Classified motherboard and two BFG 285 GTX with EK FC water blocks. I bought THIS assuming the 30MM from thread to thread was when the fitting were screwed into the blocks but it looks like I was wrong. It looks like I need THIS. Can anyone here running a classified in SLI confirm this before I buy another useless fitting?

Here's a shot of the cards and the spacing between the fittings.

Maybe someday MicroCenter will get more fittings in stock. I would order a few extra of those extenders though. Sidewinders also has the measurements of those, so if you have a set of calipers or a ruler you can check to be certain.

I only had one water block at the time when I bought all my fittings, the second block was on back order for 3 weeks. I was browsing through some pictures in the work logs and I some some pictures of the classified and a couple of koolance blocks in SLI and it only required the short connector so I figured it would be the same for the EK blocks.

Yeah I have a set of calipers and it measure close to an inch from block to block so that one extender should do the trick but I'm buying two any way!!

Yea, I figured that. I was more referring to measuring it now so you don't have a third order for fittings.

i've learned it is best to have some extra fittings on hand for just that reason. I sucks when one little fitting is what is holding up your build and shipping it out costs more than the fitting does.

I measured it a little while ago and it measures about .980" so 1 extender should work but the shipping is nearly $5.00 so I'll get a couple of them to justify shipping charges. And you're right, if I had ordered a couple in the first place I would be finding my max overclock on my i7 rig as we speak!
