Best pwm fans for Mega Shadow?

I'm about to receive a Promilatech Mega Shadow and wanted to run a push/pull setup on it. I've not got a fan controller and would ideally like to run them both via pwm from the motherboard CPU fan header. My questions are;

Would this adapter allow me to do this?

Which pwm enabled fans would anyone recommend? Are there any good 38mm pwm fans out that would perform a good price/performance ratio?

Thanks in advance.

seems like it would actually!! the adapter that is, and cant really help on fans

i love those Noiseblocker 120mm NB-BlackSilentFan XL2 Fan's though... there only 25mm thick

imo i'd get them for looks

or gentle typhoons in push/pull, as the mobo header will still regulate them

Thanks for the reply, those fans seem nice, from what I've read it seems that the fans have to be 4 wire pwm, I don't think standard 3 pin ones will regulate, the adapter just lets you do multiple fans simultaneously from a single header and not power it on the motherboard.

you only need 1 pwm fan on connectors like that.
the rest can be 3 pin, it looks like this can use a molex connector too.

25mm IMO isn't worth it.

I had a 25mm push/pull on my Megahalems, not a single degree gain over a single push, but a lot more noise (2,100rpm Scythe SlipStreams)

So 38mm you might, it's one thing i wanna try myself actually. Just waiting a decent AUS stockish to get some decent 38's in

So I could use one pwn case fan and 2 standard three pin fans on the Mega Shadow and get them all to work from the header with pwm? Sounds perfect if so, I could strap 2 38mm panaflos on the mega and a noiseblocker on the exhaust.

Would also be interested to know . . .

As far as I've noticed the Mega Shadow wont be available in the UK till the end of October.

Can always order it from the USA for about £80 if your desperate, the delivery cost kills the deal not to mention import duty fees.

Clone and Nelly, fellow OCUKers?

I bit the bullet and paid through the nose for someone to ship it from the states, about £70ish delivered. I couldn't stand it not matching my black case...lol.

You guys are like me, waiting for the megashadow to arrive over our shores. Price is not great when getting it shipped over to the UK but it is tempting me.

I just got my GT's and they are extremely silent. You cant hear them at full blast. Push pull with these should be very comfortable. Only thing is that they weigh a lot.

Thumbs up

The new toys have arrived! No customs nastiness either, door to door, 5 days from the US.

Now I've just got to buy the rest of it, lol.

1850's are just not available, so went for the 1450's. They push a pretty decent amount of air is what i understood from my 5 minutes of testing.
