Cascade in BIG case , with 2 independent condensors (one 4.8 kw + another 0.75kW for desuperheater), bypass valve and ...."standart" compressors . This time I used Danfoss TS2, not Alco Ti-HW on 1st stage . All motor fans are EBM-Papst .
Specs :
compressors: Toshiba PH160T2-4L2 on 1st stage + Toshiba PG180X1C on 2nd stage
evap: steeper 42mm diam/41mm tall
XV: Danfoss TS2/captube 0.9 mm
HX: plate HX , 12 plates
condensers: 4.8 Kw, alu-cu, cooled by 2x 254mm/230V fans + desuperheater for 2nd stage 0.75kW , alu-cu, cooled by 170mm/230V fans
refrigerants : R507/R1150
oilseparator : Shine Year automatic
safety : RANCO cut-off, FACH 1.5l expansion tank
case : Laser cutted and powder coated case, 89 x 71 x 51 cm, wheels
others: Bypass valve - Castel handvalve, 2*REFCO panel gauges (discharge pressure), ANACONDA shocks absorber on 1st stage suction line, polished and clear coated pipes, 350mm fan on back wall
From some short time, I've started to use ONLY EBM fans in mine builds ...cheap chineese are just not enought trustworthy.
Clear coat as almost always .
Again ...sorry for funny despriptions, I know that's maxed NON-pro .
Final unloaded temperature.
Bypass is a little bit opened - it worked quite good like for a ordinary handvalve . The littest drop can be set under 260W load is -91*C from -94*C when valve is fully closed .
That's temperature on 260W dummyload after 2 hours test.
He means the Rotary Temp because you are heating the compressor with that bypass. Maybe itīs a short life for the second stage when you select a temp where you need a wide opened bypass

We will see
I'm trying to trace where the bypass line is feeding from but it looks like its coming directly from the "OUT" port of the oilsep and before the desuper condenser. Is every ones concern because the gas is still very hot at that point and it might be overheating the compressor?
Hot gas bypasses are usually left on for very short durations to avoid cold boots or to warm an evap up when shutting down. If it was used under high load then maybe it would be a problem
Just trying to understand the concern because I usually have mine after the desuper condenser and haven't had any issues.
In this build I haven't measure that, in previous one which bypass mounted in exactly same way after 5 minutes of working with opened bypass temperature of compressor shell rise for approx 4*C . Owner of that cascade is very happy with it , and how bypass work .
It's 1.6mm ID captube used for bypass .
Nevermind, I know about what You mean - in ALL mine next builds with bypass , bypass outlet captube will be going DIRECTLY to evaporator head .
Man thats clean. Much respect to you for doing a superb job and having the pride in your great work.
You should move to Hawaii soon, me needs a builder
Today, I've made some hard bench for the first time and 'im really pleased of the performance of the unit!
Unload Temp is around -103°
Temp during SuperPi 32M with 1.62v (i7 975) is stable at -101°, the same temperature also with 1.47 or 1.65v, impressive !
Temp during Wprime 1024 (full load, 8treads) with 1.46v is stable at -97° !!!! This is particularly impressive !
After around 8 hours of bench, the temperature is always the same at the end of the day, -101°
Thank you so much again, you've make very great stuff
Sincerely,
dami1stm
