New cooler to a Palit GTX 260

I have this card, a Palit GTX 260, but the cooler is kinda funky. Its pretty good at cooling but really loud when I play. To make mather worse I have two, so it can be really loud ; )

Anyways, its not a standard 260 card, looks like this

Same as the new version of Gainwards 260 card

Anyone who know about an aftermarket cooler that fits these cards? I have a Swiftech MCW60 block laying around and thought about putting both the cards under water, but the block dosent fit. Its a bit to big.

Anyone who know about a nice new cooler? =)

I have the Gainward version of that card. The stock cooler is crap imo, its noisy and doesn't cool very well! I have put both a TRad^2 GTX and a MCW60 + ram sinks on it. Works fine. You have to completely remove the stock cooling plate (ie that covers the ram etc), which will reveal standard size mounting holes. Ditch the crappy stock cooling ASAP imo!

I found some pics to show what I am talking about. If you are getting this far and deciding it doesn't fit, you need to pull more off:

Those holes are non-standard. However, remove the plate and you get this:

Notice the 2 sets of holes? The outer ones are the standard GTX 260+ size mounting holes. Whatever aftermarket cooling solution you have should fit there. It does mean you can't use the stock plate for cooling ram etc (which was my original plan), but given how much cooler everything is kept using enzotech ramsinks, it worked out for the better anyway.

OOoh, thats great news! I never understood what the heck the second set of holes where for. Hmm, does this mean i can slap this puppy on my cards? http://www.arctic-cooling.com/catalo...7&page=gallery
It dosent look much bigger then the original cooler (its pretty tight in my case at the moment) but seem to cool much bether.

I believe it will fit yes, but why use that when you have an MCW60? Just slap that on it and enjoy the silence!

Well, I have two cards and only one MCW60. Also, my rad wont be able to cool CPU and both my GPUs (atleas I don't think it will) plus I OC a bit so...I guess I have to go with the aircooling. Don't feel like putting another loop in either, to much hassle ; )

Fair enough... either the TRad2 GTX or Accellero GTX 280 should fit just fine. I found the TRad2 to be pretty bulky however, and it blocked the SATA ports on my motherboard. YMMV of course (and no idea if the Accellero is any better!)

I have been measuring a bit in my case and...Nothing will friggin fit! not the TRad or the Accellero. Just cuz I got two cards =( The top one will fit fine but the botton one will hit the roof of my PSU.
I guess I need to see if I can find a thinner cooler. I just need something like the VF900-cu...

Grab a 2nd MCW60 and another rad.... It will be worth the hassle in the long run.

Hehe, might just be the case! But there is no space for the rad, or one more pump and all that....*sigh* What to do what to do....

I just orderd one Accellero cooler and Im going to try it later today.
Will a singel 120 rad (thin one, kinda like Swiftech MCR-120) cool a single GTX 260? I know this isn't the Water cooling section, sorry =/

A single rad like the MCR-120 will do just fine for a GTX 260. You may have a water temp of 35-40C, but that doesn't matter much for video cards, where it doesn't matter much whether your GPU is at 55C, 60C or even 65C. In any way your GPU will be cooler than with the stock cooler
