well, it looks like i finally have come to decide if i want to get a new cpu block or not.
about a year or so ago i bough a Danger Den RBX waterbock for my first watercooling adventure. and came to an abrupt problem, the block didnt fit my boards mounting. ingenuity only went so far, but i ended up purchasing what i think was a chrome swiftech storm holddown plate, that also didnt match the boards holes. however, it still made my last resort mount feel better. i ended up just using the original heat sink retention module to actually hold down the block. and it works... if you get it set up right. and i didnt this time. temps are... higher than they were last time, so im pretty sure i didnt get a good seat.
so im wondering about opininos out there, should i just remount this till i get it right, or buy a new block. im considering an apogee gtz for the price factor or a heatkiller if i just decide to go all out, probably will.
heres a pick of the freakshow mount i got now.

Reason: forgot the pic
If you are having issues with mounting that block, then yea, I would upgrade. The new blocks are suppose to be better than the Danger Den blocks and that storm.
If you want a good cheap block, check out the Enzotech Sapphire. In this review, it was the least restrictive block and offered better temps than the GTZ. It was also only a degree or so off from the HK.

i love my EK supreme. it also comes with a mounting kit that will absolutely work on that board and the EK support is excellent! when i first got it the screws were wrong i shot them an email and 3 days later had 3 new different sets of screws to ensure i had the right ones. i highly reccomend it.

so i bought the sapphire, and have been fiddling around and never got around to changing it out. haven't touched the mount, i guess the AS5 settled, the idle temps dropped 10C. i doubt that's because of the 10F drop in ambient. the idle 31C is defiantly acceptable. but at least i can try the new block whenever i decide to get a new board.

Idle temps don't really tell us too much, what are your peak temps?
Wait you are using an RBX? Even when the RBX was released (5-6 years ago?) it sucked. Yes, you need a new block.
