Zalman coolant

Greetings all,

A friend has a TT water cooling system ( Yuk ) Any way. He has been using it for a while now and wants to clean it, I recommended distilled water but we can't find PT-Nuke any where locally and he doesn't want to wait to order it online.

SO that leaves him with 2 options, either TT own coolant or Zalman coolant.

Has anyone tried the Zalman coolant before?

Your friend could use only distilled until the PT-Nuke gets delivery or use distilled water + silver. Any silver works (rings, earing, braclet) just make sure it doesnt fall into the loop and get eaten by your pump.

What about the Zalman as a coolant?

Iknow it is no where as good as water but I'm having a hard time talking to him about it.
Also he likes colored liqued in his loop!

they wshould all be the same pretty much... probably very little noticable difference in temperature..

If he is running a TT loop he probably is running mixed metals and shouldn't use just distilled + silver. He also needs a corrosion inhibitor. My guess is that both the TT coolant and the Zalman coolant have that since both companies make mixed metal loops.

IIRC Tom's did a review on the coolants way back. Although I can't seem to find it and I am sure their methodology wasn't great.
