Cleaning BayRes (XPSC DDC)

Hoping for a quick answer:

I've been upgrading my loop (XSPC DDC bayres, compression fittings, general maintenance) and noticed that my tubing had some white crap in it, same as this really:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...ight=clean+res

Since seeing that I have:
- replaced all my tubing (Primochill UV red)
- flushed both radiators with vinegar (once), hot (but not boiling) water (three times) and then distilled

Now I figured all was well, got the new loop setup and during bleeding I looked at the res and saw that it was murkey with little white 'things' floating in it (look like large pieces of dust or something?)

Anyways:

Now I have no idea how to clean the reservoir so that this brand new res LOOKS new again.

System info (if it helps):
Thermochill 120.3 (did not flush it when I got it :-( that was a few loop changes ago though...)
Swiftech MCR 220
EK Supreme LT (new)
XSPC Bayres for single DDC (new)
DDC 3.2
XSPC FC GTX260 block
Bitspower & some other compression fittings
distilled water (ran out of anti-algae additive, just ordered a kill-coil)

Try 'scrubbing bubbles' and a bent coathanger with a rag on the end.

Depends on the type of buildup your trying to clean. If its just some mild staining, then use distilled water and shake like crazy. If that doesn't do it, then get a white vinegar and water solution...roughly 50/50, and let soak. You could let it soak over night if its really bad. Finally, and this should be reserved for a last resort, you could do the abrasive shake method. Fill the res with an abrasive material, and agitate. I have used water/sand mixtures, and water/ice mixtures. The ice needs to be really small chunks, and many recommend adding rock salt to it for whatever reason. Obviously, you'll need to rinse the res out afterwords, and the abrasives may scratch the acrylic (I use it on coolant expansion tanks on cars...so scratching isn't a concern).

Powdered laundry detergent, hot water, and a bit of shaking would clear that gunk out.

A coathanger with a dishsoapy bit of rag on the end should be enough to do the trick. You may not even need the coat hanger if you shake the rag piece around good.

Do not use alcohol because it will dry out your acrylic and lead to it cracking.

Problem with dyes is sometimes u just cant get it off, so you might fall into that catigory.

The best method i have used is to use dish washer soap and give it a good shake.

If you still cant get rid of it, use salt and water. The salt will work as a scrub, however it will disolve into the water, so make sure u scrub fast with the salt.

After make sure u rince it throughly because the salt + water + copper = no good outcome later on.

the Vinegar + baking soda actually worked wonders, thanks!

Res look about new :-)

Tubing, IMO, just wasn't worth the effort and time to clean. Blocks are easy enough to hand scrub, and rads cleaned well from flushing.
