best i7 block
Which is the best i7 block out now? I have not looked into wc stuff since I completed my i7 build/wc setup right after release of i7. I am using a DD cpu block atm.
thanks all

depends on what you want
flowrate? good temps? best quality? aesthetics?
my favorite few:
1.EK Supreme
2.Heatkiller 3.0
3.Swiftech GTZ
there is a review thread here which should give you some useful info

Yes, it's really good and fashioned (italians do it better ) but no, there's no other postings 'cause the BS is still in beta (version five)
If somebody needs help can contact me
However there is no english site, but if you need i could translate to ya the words you need

Ha! I did the same thing.
Here are some pics. Supposedly this block cools around or slightly better than the HK 3.0 while being less restrictive. From what I can gather it is a tweaked Eclipse. This is all speculation or marketing.
Other than that I found a lot of release dates. The ones that make the most sense are November-October.

Nope, it is the Black Sun. It clearly says so on the block.
I found multiple new sites with these images on them so I don't think it is a prank.

Really? Odd those pics are everywhere. I guess that would make sense though. I was wondering why that thread with tests didn't have any pics of it.

You where given the link the the latest tests of i7 blocks, the "best"
is where it becomes fuzzy If you have an unlimited budget and access to ALL the various product, then the best is always the lowest temp. with the highest flow. But as can be attested by users here we all run various blocks depending on a host of personal issue's. There will ALWAYS be another "best" just around the corner. Do you need the best? Is 1c-2c difference on the CPU a big deal, I don't think so. So for me it's a balance of what products I can get (geographically) and for what cost.
I'm currently running very old technology with the Fusion v2 and it is working fine, and I could buy it in Canada without bankrupting the bank. Having said that I will be ugrading with my newer rig (this one is 5 weeks old lol). And will be going with an Enzotech Sapphire or Heatkiller depending on what I can get without spending excess cash getting the thing to my doorstep.
I like millertime359's response.

enzotech sapphire is about the best block out there, behind the hk 3.0. Add it's not just a difference of a shiney top or not with the LT version of the HK, all copper body makes a difference. I'd go with sapphire due to bang for buck, prefer it to my GTZ.

If you google YBRIS BLACK SUN it will list several links with the word 'translate' next to it.
I was reading up on it earlier, translation works pretty well
Block definately looks interesting, needs to get in Skinnee's lab!

I am overall fine with the dd block but temps are not as good as other blocks I have seen reviews on. I suppose 3-4c is not really enough to worry about it. I also have my two 260's in the same loop as cpu.. idle is around 38-42c on cpu, depends on which core you are looking at, loads in the 70's if I am remembering right.. have not done a test on it since I put it all together.

Best performance - HK 3,0 CU.
Best bang for buck - HK LT, Ek Supreme LT, or that Sapphire for you US folks.

HK LT and HK CU are same block, just different top. I think you are referring to the HK LC for your bang for buck.
