An idea over cable sleeving

Is there a reason why many of you sleeve your entire PSU rather than getting extenders for each major cable (24pin power, 4 pin power, power for GPU(s)) and sleeving only those? Seems like it'd save you the trouble of sleeving again whenever you eventually upgrade your PSU (ie when you decide to go pro with tri-sli and such).

People who go through the trouble of sleeving every wire in their case do it for looks, and neatness. If they used extenders, then they'd have ton of extra wire they have to hide somewhere

Probably the main reason is space. Most PSU cables are around 18" to 24" and you would be just adding to that which is a lot to hide. Then there is the look of a fully sleeved PSU, much nicier in my opinion if done right.

as already stated, if you have the space to hide the extra wire, go for it. but like me, i cannot put my side panel on as there is so many wires it can't close. it's up against the wall so i don't care . 123

Another option would be to stick with a brand that is fully modular. I have a silverstone st60f that is fully sleeved and when I decide I need more power I will simply order another modular silverstone. all my cables will transfer right over and I will be back in business.

As someone who does use extenders (I have to), it is far easier to just pull off the connector and sleeve it than it is to crimp all the wires and pins then sleeve.

Do you know if the cables on HX850 is the same as on HX620?

I was more so thinking of spending the $10-15 in extenders rather than making my own simply because I'd think that's how much it'd be worth not having to sleeve an entire PSU again, haha.

It's actually a good idea I never thought of, just sleeve extenders. Would make it easier and faster. I have a sleeved modular PSU so I don't care all too much but for another build that's a nice idea.

On a similar topic, how many of you have tried sleeving your tubing? I ordered 10ft of 1/8" sleeving once from sidewinders and they sent me the wrong stuff, way too big. Since it would cost more to send it back and get replaced I just kept it and sleeved my tubing since I was just about to re-do it anyways. I found out that not only did it look really nice, it acted as a very good anti-kink solution.

I was planning on doing this because I do plan on swapping out PSUs at some point and I really don't want to go through the expense or trouble of doing it again.

I have 2 cases I was going to do this for. In both cases the PSU is not visible. I was going to chop the 18" power supply connector and put a connector on it and turn the rest of it into an extender. I was planning to do the same with the other non-modular cables as well. This way, the extenders will stay with the case regardless of what PSU I use.

I was curious why this wasn't more common and if there was a problem with it that I didnt know about.

Also, I think you can buy extenders uni-sleeved from frozencpu now, but they're pricey.

This is the reason why i'm probably going to just sleeve my PSU. Started with extenders but the extra length and partial the look was not as clean as I wanted it to be.

I noticed some people are not completely uni-sleeving the PSU anymore and stopping halfway or 3/4 which I think I was thinking a good comprimise.
