Compressor for Chiller?

Hello,

I have a small compressor from a Mini Fridge, and I was wondering if it would work at all for a chiller system. I have not been able to find much information about the compressor online, but there are a few numbers on the side. it is a Sanyo Compressor, C-QN43L2A. Does this look like somthing that would work?

Looks good, i'm pretty sure even a smallish compressor can make a good chiller

So anyways I was thinking about using two Heat exchangers for a Condensor/evap of sorts. Any thoughts to how effective this would be? I would have two water loops, one cooling the compressor and the other chilling the waterloop to the CPU/GPU's.

My other concern is that I need to de-gass this thing before I remove it from the fridge. Any suggestions on a safe way to do this?

Piotress recently did a plate hx to water to cool a phase, would be interesting to see a water to phase to water chiller loop.

you may want to go poke around the phase change section for a bit until someone chimes in here.

I would advise against using a mini fridge compressor. They are small and not designed to handle active heat loads.

The smallest compressor you'd probably want to be dealing with is on the order of 1/5th HP - a mini fridge is probably
in the area of 1/15th HP or less.

I think I've decided to go against the fridge compressor. I am still really positive about using two heat exchangers for this system, I found some nice heat exchangers on Ebay that I might pick up. I may also need to pick up a larger radiator as my current water loop has a 240mm radiator. With that said can someone recommend a good compressor that will work in the United States? I see that a lot of the cooling work on these forums comes from Europe so I need to make sure I get a 110 V compressor. Also price needs to be reasonable as the wife doesn't let me get away with spending a lot of money. I'd like the compressor to be small so I can fit all of this inside my UFO case.
