thanks for these. The FEAR scores are pretty bad which is a main reason why I would rather have a GTX over an HD as that is a game I mainly play and the GTX just does so much better at it.
Try running the benches with reflect all instead of reflect world and see what you get.

Not certain but I think my 1900 didn't drop to 25-40 range at all in that bench.

this is a bug on FEAR, It will be fixed i hope in next drivers.
Do one thing, i think you will be surprised for CSS, run at 4x - 8x - 16xAA... you will see something interessant, no drop at all.. between 4 ->16xAA.
I have allready post this for CSS here on Xtreme sys... but like you open a another thread:
1280x1024, all max settings in game.. older beta driver ( need reinstall CSS for redo bench with 7.6)
Higher is without AA and AF... then you have each time 16xHQF and then increased AA.. from 4x -> 16xAA with adaptative.

Could you post 1280x1024 with 4x AA and 8X AF, I want to see how it compares to my machine, and see how bad the CPU bottleneck really is

i think the 1280 resolution is more limiting than his cpu to this card. His CPU is running at least a stock E6600 which is no slouch. There is not a single thing wrong with an X2 at 2.88. My 4800+ runs at 2.84 which is technically less than his cpu and does quite well. You must run at least 16xx range for resolution to see any benefits from these late generation cards.
Lane-K. You mention FEAR has a bug that is limiting performance? Is this your personal opinion or is there some proof that FEAR scores will go up, and hopefully substantially with a future update?

No thanks, that's fine
Crazy CPU bottleneck going on there as I get the same/a little better frames in CS:S with my x1900xtx (most likely due to memory clocks or the +80mhz clock I have on you)
That being said, I can't wait to upgrade my CPU

i'll post some results with crossfire when i get back to england. the hd2900 wants a 3.6 core2duo to be happy. anything less will limit the card in games and benchies.
i wouldnt think about patches for old games like fear as long as it kicks ass in all new titles from here on out.

People you are forgetting here that the source engine sets the max fps on 300 by default. Put fps_max 0 in the console every time you restart the game.

Using Graw2 along with cat 7.6 using HD 2900XT OC
OS XP SP2
1880x1050
all related settings maxed
Average around 49 FPS and as high as low 60's FPS.

No, I've turn it on according to how they use it in this game.
Are you viewing the pic in it's original size of 1680x1050? Once you click on the thumbnail you have to click on it again?
Also note that I am using jpg and not png.

AA does seem to be on but if you look at the bridge railings, they are jaggy. This is perhaps due to transparent AA being off?

I honestly don't think the game uses AA, not sure though. But the option to use aa is called edge smoothing in the options. Not sure what that means.

Here is 3D06 using 4xAA box, 16xAF
1280x1024
743/828 Stock
9076 3DMarks
This is interesting because it appears that if you actually put all of this card to use the results are pretty good (taking a guess here). It seems that in some games this card is not being fully utilized when 4xaa/16xaf is used.

G.R.A.W. series uses deferred rendering based engine and hardware AA is not applicable, so a silly post-processing blur trick is used. Just like in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
