Red face Teaser thread...

Just tested a bit ASUS Striker after insulation and finally I found out how to clock it.....

The VCore of my CPU was TOO low for the time been....Only 1.86Volts....
It was difficult at the begining to go from air to LN2....NOTHING is the same with each other...
The settings (Voltages etc.) you put on air, have nothing to do to what you must put under subzero...

I'm satisfied for the time been....

VGAs in SLI mode and used 2 x 8800GTX stock coolers at 621MHz Core and 999MHz rams....

More to come in the upcoming days.....

I started testing with the 2k3....

2k3 COMPARE URL.....

Then I upper the frequency a bit, testing 2k5.....

2k5 COMPARE URL.....

....AND then......I run out of LN2.....

I'll be back though real soon....

Why don't you give up on 05 already and leave that to ATI

So that's what you were doing ... crazy CPU power for 680i, especially if you still have some reserves. Can't wait to see the full power runs .

Thank you guys.....

To be honest, it was TOO difficult to find how to bench with this i680 chipset....It does what it wants without asking me what I want.....
Thank God, we'll have Intel chipsets for SLI so we ALL will be happy....
Also my CPU works at -147*C on this mobo and -155*C during bench, and -137*C on ABIT AW9D-MAX one.... Strange....

Ermmmm........I have 2 x 2900s here to test too......BUT after the NVIDIA session..... Under my calculations, they'll bring easy 34k+.... On the other hand, 2 x 2900s under LN2 and at 5400MHz+, they whould probably do over 35k+...We'll see about that......

This week is NVIDIA's week.......Next week is ATI's week....

First off, I used a Swiftech heatsink over Northbridge with a 4 x 4cm DELTA fan to cool it down....Then I had HTT = 1.5Volts, North = 1.65Volts, South with 1 VGA = 1.75Volts and with SLI = 1.80Volts, Vdimm via a DDR Maximizer = 2.65Volts, a rounded heatsink with fan on Southbridge and heatsinks on each VCore Mos-Fet.....and PSU's VIO(3.3V) = 3.65Volts, 12V = 12.9V, 5V = 5.4V......

I thought HDDs work off 12v and 5v?

Nice score George!

Cant wait to see some final benches. I have the feeling we will see some big numbers.

The coldbug issue is weird. Maybe that AMD guy was right. Coldbug is caused by the bios :P

HDs are fed through 5V and 12V not 3.3V....

Striker only the Vdroop, VCore, ALL GTLREF (0,1,2,3) and heatsinks....XFX 8800 Ultras VGPU, Vdimm(no need it though), coils, capacitors...

Not yet coz I HAVE to make protections for the output voltages first, not to sortcircuit an output Mos-Fet and brings out the 18Volts onto CPU/VGAs.....

I'm benching with a Zippy 700Watts SINGLE 12V rail for master and SEVENTEAM 1000Watts for the VGAs...
