Mcr220 + E6600@3.8 + 88gtx
I thought I was taking a bit of a huge risk, trying to pile all that into an MCR220 along with a D5 and it's (IMO insignificant) heatdump.
Right now, priming at 3.8 @ 1.46v, CPU loads at 63, idles at around 45. GPU idles at 45 but only loads at 51/52... which I found a bit odd. Ambient is 39 (that's HK summer for you) all degrees are in centigrade.
88GTX is naked except for one swifty heatsink on the i/o chip (the rest wouldn't stay on). All is packed into a fully internalised (except for the rear fan which is on the outside of the case) PC-7B (same size as PC-60). Needless to say, thank god for the maintenance jumper on the BX2 because I can't even reach the battery
Anyhow, specs as follows:
E6600 L627B @ 3.8 1.46v orthos stable w/ Apogee GT *horizontally*
8800GTX @ 621/900 w/ MCW60
BX2 @ 422 FSB
10th Anny @ 422 FSB (craps out at 500 at 2.1v, don't want to go higher, so I can't run 4:5 anymore )
D5 / MCR220 w/ orig fans (deltas) at around 9V / EK 150
Things are going alright so far. Pics up soon!

Those are very good temps CedricFP, especially using a GTX
I am in the process of doing similar except using a GTS and I was worried if my 220 would cope
Oh and re reaching the battery/clear CMOS I have always used a CD to audio card cable with a jumper

looking good there
i must says it's a little "too" good if your ambients temps are really 39C
it may be the case that your CPU temps sensor is a little out of whack

Yeah, I considered that. Ambient inside case is 39, ambient outside is about 33 unless i switch on the airconditioning (which right now shorts the whole place ) And by ambient inside case, I mean what Speedfan reads as the ambient inside case - I don't have a temp probe in there. 33 in room +/- 2 - my psuedo-lava-lamp-temp-monitor-gimmick-glass-contraption is not particularly accurate.
At any rate, I am going to drop down to 3.6 at 1.375v just to lower my temps a tad. I don't need the extra 200 MHZ 24/7.
EDIT: Hmm, IIRC, when I was priming at 3.6, I was loading at about 61... for a two degree drop, 200 mhz might not be worth it. The want for clock is eating at me... I hate that my ram bails out so early, though. I was hoping for a good 550 on the RAM but after reading horror stories of D9 dying, I've resigned to not going over 2.1v.
EDIT #2: Also, I've got this whirlpool thing going in my EK res... it's a pretty cool effect but air bubbles keep being dragged by the pump into the loop every now and then causing a rather painful sound (sounds a bit like sand scraping along metal) - it's not sand, I can see that the sound occurs only when a little bubble is pulled into the loop. Is it possible to dampen this maelstrom effect?

the important thing is that it's stable

Well, I hope so at any rate Rather happy with the build, it's taken the better part of a year for me to finally pony up for the 88GTX... all that waiting for the R600
I'm just hoping the temp sensor isn't reading too low.... one always has to be cautious in sub tropical summers.

you can make a divider out of a thin piece of plastic and slide it down the tube.

Hmm, good thinking. I might give that a shot. I am using the bottom plug to lead into my pump, though, creating a kind of tilted maelstrom. I am not sure how well a divider might circumvent this, but I'll give it a shot later tonight anyways.

Wow, 3.8 at 1.46 with your L627B and BX2. That's great! My L627B and BX2 needs 1.51 for Orthos stable (been messing with OC again with the new 'lower volts' BIOS, makes former not stable speed/volts stable ). FWIW, temps on yesterday's 45 min Orthos run playing around with the BIOS with 75F room temp, YL fans 12V, were peaking at 64C on a small fft portions of Orthos blend, averaged around 60C, reading with TAT. Specs in sig. I found that Coolaboratory Liquid Metal TIM really helps transfering high heat loads at these speeds to the water block much better compared to AS5 using a lapped IHS, you could give that a shot too. Good luck with your L627B!

Yeah I was also worried that the MCR220 I just ordered wouldnt handle a 165@3ghz\Penryn or K10 + 8800GTX, but now that you posted this, I feel much more comfortable with my purchase!
Thanks for sharing your results, now lets see some pics!
BTW, Did you thoroughly clean the ram chips\vregs before trying to install the Swiftech sinks??? Ive used the MC14s before on a friends card, and never had an issue with them not sticking.

Yup. At my "24/7" speed of 3.6 I was able to drop down to the first voltage step down for overnight Orthos stable. Went from 1.3875 to 1.37xx and where previously unstable now it's stable. I'll try the next lower voltage tonight. There's some more on this in the XBX2 thread in 'Intel'.
