help me plan this build

Hey!
first off, im 15 and i am really stingy about money,(don't like to spend it, even though i have it) and almost no metal working tools. So what this means, is wood case! i am going to make this out of MDF wood,(i really liek mdf, its cheap, workable, adn paints nicely) and i have a O.K. compressor, so i am going to get an airbrush, and airbrush the thing. So heres the CAD work(sketchup)

So, one part is the top/side and the other is the bottum/right side/front/back. I was planning on using aluminum "L" things(not sure of the name, but they look like a L" to make a frame, but i thought of a problem.

If i mount the motherboard directly to the MDF, then the aluminum "L" frame part(1/8th of an inch) would get right in the way. Its hard to explain, but since the mobo would be mounted at a corner, It could not make contact to the wood on either side without being bent 1/8 inches, which will NOT work.
So what do you recomend for me to fix this? what other techniques are there for a frame?

thanks a ton! and these are the tools i have ready: Jig saw with metal cutting blade handy, Dremel tool with a diamond wheel for cutting metal, Hand drill, 3 amp(old... lol) with metal cutting drill bit, old scroll saw, and a hand sander, that im pretty sure doesn't work lol.

So please dish me your ideas for frames, or how to connect the panels, and how to improve the design of the case.

P.S. on one side will be a phase change, so no windows or fans on the side opposite the motherboard.

Thanks!

Don't know if you've seen it, but my current project is based mostly in mdf.

Don't know what type of mdf you plan on using, but I pick mine up cheap from Home Depot, but it is 3/4in thick. I notice all your designs show the walls being theoretically thin. 3/4in thickness, means you MUST design with thick walls in mind.

For example, something as simple as mounting fans, becomes an issue, because you'll need something like 2.75in bolts to mount them! If you flip thru my log, you'll see that's why I chose to bury my fans at 1/2in depth, using a router.

Also best be prepared to have a plan on how to paint unfinished edges of mdf.

I'm not understanding your motherboard dilemma.

I am going to sand down the edges of the MDF and airbrush them. I do not have a router unfortunatly... but i am prepared to buy screws and such, but how much do rou ters run for?

What i am saying is if i want to mount both sides of the motherboard tray to the rear and right panels, The aluminum frame will stick out 1/8 of an inch. So the mobo tray will not sit flushely in the 90 degree corner of the 2 mdf boards, because there will be the aluminum frame there. sorry i am having trouble explaining, do you understand now though?

ill check out your build
