Angry Weird user account issue on XP after uninstalling Logitech Setpoint software

I have no idea why this would change anything with the accounts. I uninstalled the Logitech setpoint software for my G5 mouse as in-game it was acting very odd, not responding to the increase or decrease buttons for sensitivity or going in the wrong direction.

So I uninstall and restart, I'm not logged in as Admin instead of the user I was on, "jose" .

Try as I might I could not log back in as Jose. I coppied all the saved files over from that account to the admin folder. Under user accounts it did not even show the Jose account, it just showed admin. I created a new account thinking I could copy the files over, once I did the new account also wouldn't show.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here? With all the times I've installed XP I have not come across this one, but it is certainly the most frustrating. I built this system for my uncle, it had Vista Business x64 but he was told by some one it wasn't compatible with a lot of stuff so I took it off for him, and put on XP. It was a clean install so I know there is nothing left over from Vista causing the issue.

For some reason now it is also showing the HD as a USB device in the taskbar. Try as I might I can't get rid of that either.

This whole project has been a huge pain so far, so any help would be greatly appreciate.

use system restore to go back to before the driver removal. that should set things right.
