Differences between P5B models (and a general "help me")

I can tell the physical differences between the two (the Dlx has better power regulation & more features). But with some of the mods for the -E and after looking at the various Core 2 OC results, is the the Deluxe really worth the money if I don't need the features?

I really need to get a desktop PC back in my life (first year of college space wouldn't allow for one ) and I'm trying to decide between either of the P5B's, the DS3 or maybe the 680i LT or 650 Ultra. So far they all seem to get the same general OC results with an e6600 (3.5ghz ish) so I'm trying to flush out if there's a benefit to spending the extra on one of the nicer boards (SLI is probably won't happen for me).

So through all my forum readings I've gathered that the DFI 680i is probably the best thing there is, only bad bit is I can't find it and I was hoping to order this week so I can be up and running come summer semester (and programming, REALLY want to have the PC for that). Other than that, the DS3 seems to do great but it just seems like the P5B Dlx should have some real advantage over it. As for the -E or even plain P5B, I can't tell if they just have less features or if the OCability has been cut back too.
Then with the nVidia series, they seem to run hotter and ideally I'd prefer the p965 since I'd rather have a quieter (thus cooler-running) rig. But it seems that for the price, some of the nVidia stuff is better.

Oh, and yea, price is a factor unfortunatly...

Any chance someone can help me out here a bit?

EDIT: Whyyyy? what's this new P5B-Plus board?
