Dalky's chiller (NL11F, plate HX, black case + blue light)
Hi
Sometimes ago, Dalkarian ask me about chiller, because He liked the Titan 507 chiller build by me.
After some ideas, we finally decided to built it in that specs:
compressor: Danfoss NL11F
heat exchanger: Plate HX , 12 plates (first time it was homemade HX, 25 cm, 35mm OD pipe with 3 meters 1/4' inside)
XV: captube 0.8 mm
condensor: custom made 195 x 167 x 60 mm , alu-cu, 0.395 kW, cooled with two Thermaltake Thunderblades Blue LED 120/25 mm
refrigerant : R507
case: metal case 59 x 21 x 23 cm, black, plexi window, glossy coat
others: elctronic controller Everycontrol (from -40*C to +99*C), Xilence Blue LED 120/25 mm on the back of case, custom made plexi grills on fans - snow flake pattern, suction line acumulator
Cutting pattern in left side panel .
First homemade HX ...later after first tests with water inside, I decided to swap it for plate HX, becasue I wasn't happy with chiller's performance .
Noload temps, no water inside ...and that's last picture with homemade HX ...
Brand new plate HX.
I've test it with 1.5 litre water+alcohol + Maxi-Jet 1000l/h pump + 12 mm ID hoses ...cooled down 1.5l liquid :
Peter your work looks superb as always...
Not trying to replace walt but take care of your hands when working with the grinder. I know you are extremely handy with your hands and chances it slips out of your hands are minimum but try to minimize them as consequences are terrible
Do not know wether any extra security measure can be applied when working with grinder ( as walt) but take care

Jon we will always miss you. Peace and all our love for you!
Reservoirs allow for the compressor to turn off for a while, which is good because it extends the compressor's lifetime, but have the disadvantage of increasing the pulldown time of the unit.
Sure Duh I take care or that ... last mounth mine father's workman nearly cuted his finger when He had been cutting pipe in His home without guard for disk stupid man I must say .
I didnt look at who made it at first, and when I saw the acculumator covered in that much frost, I figured someone didnt know what they were doing and werent putting enough load on the system and was going to mess it all up with liquid floodback... but Piotres boy, you know what youre doing.
Nice, powerful chiller.
Edit: Does the cap tube end once it goes into the HX, and thats where the refrigerant boils off? Dont know much about phase, but would a CPEV allow for better tuning/temps? *phase noob*
Hmmm, so just capillary line and charge to above vacuum suction side? I hope it works well.
I think much above vacuum ...around +0.3-0.7 bara at no load .
