Fuzion bought from Petratechshop - wrong barb threading?
Well, I went out and bought D-Tek Fuzion for my brand new C2D setup. Ordered from petra's tech shop with very little hazzle, excellent service, prompt shipping. However, I think I have a problem with the barbs they supplied with the waterblock - the threads do not match. I tried screwing in the barb and it doesn't want to go in. It seems, the Fuzion top has wider threads than the ones on the barbs.
Well, you can understand my concern. I don't want to force the barbs in, which will created a new thread in the top, while thread may potentially spring a leak. I also don't want to use teflon tape either as it will apply extra pressure on the plastic top, causing a long-term stress which may lead to cracking and leaking (happened to me before). Or do I worry too much about this?
I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Did you purchase chrome fittings or stock fittings? If you purchased the chrome fittings, Petras only sells EK's and DD's in conjunction with the Fuzion. Both are absolutely compatible. Sometimes you just need to use a bit more elbow grease.

Yeah, I got Dtek fittings actually Anyways, I don't have any problems with this but I'm used to fittings going in easy rather than requiring a wrench right off the bat... I mean I can't turn this thing even once before it stops dead in its tracks

carefull, DD shiped me 9/16 fittings one time whe they should have been G1/4, they could have done the same with Petra's or you. I got a FuZion from Petra's with EK's barbs, and they went on like butter.

If you bought it recently, then you likely received D-Tek fittings. The new D-Tek fittings are pretty much exactly to spec... which is probably why you're having trouble--the tapped holes in the Fuzion seem a touch small (apparently, something to do with the injection molding process ). I say that they're small because my 1/4" BSPP (G1/4) tap pulls a lot of materiel outta the Fuzion's top, but the barbs work wonderfully after a quick clean-out with my tap. It is for this reason that D-Tek has started pre-installing barbs on the block (beginning with the shipment that'll be arriving on Tues.).

Petra - so what am I to do? I'm afraid forcing the barbs into the plastic top to avoid cracks, but I don't want any leaks either... any ways to swap my block for the new one with barbs pre-installed by D-tek? That way if it leaks, it's all on them After all, I don't have a shop here with a tap to make this top compatible with the barbs I got

PM me with your order number and I'll send some EK barbs out to you on Monday--they should go in a lot easier.

RESPECT
This is the way business should be done.
I'm not into "alternate" cooling, but if I was....Petra's is where I would shop.

I have just put in a FuZion that came from over-clock.uk, it came about a week ago with pre-fitted barbs, but I don't know if over-clock put them in whether it was or D-Tek. Barbs looked the same as others I had from over-clock, so I'm guessing the former.

I had trouble like yours on one hole of my DTek, that and the lack of a chamfer on the holes to support the o-rings made me really wonder about this design. I just got rid of the o-rings, used Permatex Ultra Black RTV, sort of 'cross threaded' the barb into the offending hole, and called it a day. Much easier than dicking with thread tape and poorly designed o-ring layouts.

JB-WELD Is your Friend. I got an early one with D-TEK Barbs allready on it. No "chamfer" made me rip them out and put some JB-WELD on there.

You're better off since teflon tape should NEVER be used on plastic threads.
