Soldering instead of brazing DICE pot, ok or not...

Hi, Im making my first DICE pot using the old end cap + 2" pipe.... The guy who I got the copper from said he only does soldering and will do it for free but he's not sure how it will react when used in dice...... So it it ok to just solder or should I take it somewhere else to get brazed?..... As you can tell I dont want to spend too much money on this project.....

Also since the endcap is quite thin, Im thinking of putting some copper in the middle of the cap, can I use thermal adhesive to attach it? Same person told me that it will come off if he solder it in there when soldering the pipe to endcap...... Thanks...

Generally, in the refrigeration business, brazing is used on copper when high pressures are involved, like the high pressure side of a refrigeration loop.

Solder is fine for low or in this case no pressure situations..

The internal won't come off if it's soldered at the same time, thats not difficult to do either. Looking forward to your results

Thanks guys... just making sure that its ok......

What's a good piece of copper to use in the middle of the cap? Im thinking of using a big copper nut and solder it heads down, im also thinking of using the copper from the stock intel fan.... I guess Ill have a better idea once i take it out, but any ideas are welcome.....

Well, I guess if Ive gone this far I might as well learn how to solder..... Got me a pl;umbing kit at home depot and read a couple "how to's"... I did it ..... Ugliest pot ever made but its my pot lol......

The piece of copper in the middle is from an intel stock cooler ( Outkast idea ), I cut it down a little bit cos it just looked too high..... I drilled 5 holes on top as you can see and also drilled all around the side so it looked like a golf ball...... I have no clue if it will help but thats all I can come up with with what I have..... To be honest, this project is not about getting awesome temps or mhz, its all about having some fun ( and hopefully learn something too.... )

Last question.... Whats the best way to clean up the inside of the pot? or can I just leave it like this?....
