How To Make An OS Selection Switch For Under $10
I bought a dpdt rocker switch at Radio Shack and a long "Y" power splitter cable with molex connectors on eBay. Cut off one of the yellow and red wires from the female molex connector and clipped the other red and yellow wire from it to 6 inches. Soldered the 6 inch red and yellow wires to the middle (source) contacts of the switch. Then I soldered the remaining yellow and red wires to the side contacts of the switch so that I can select which male molex connector gets power. Mounted the switch into a blank floppy bay panel. I have one Raptor drive going to sata port0 and another going to sata port1. And one molex from the switch feeding power to each of the two Raptors. Only a powered drive is seen by my motherboard (BadAxe2) and booted. So now I just flip the switch to one side to boot up Windows XP and to the other side to boot up Vista. Cheap and works like a charm!
