Shin-Etsu, Differances between these x23 types?

I already know the differances of x23-7762 vs G751

Since Shin-Etsu has many variants, my question is what are the differances between x23-7762 and x23-7783D. Is 7783D a newer improved version or is there a differant consistancy? Many comparison reviews I have seen are for G751 and x23-7762 but not one I have seen is with 7783D.

Hit their subsidiary website.... http://www.microsi.com/ .... there are pdf's with consistency/viscosity ratings... Ive yet to look those up...

Im going to upgrade HSF (from an Si-120) here relatively soon (I have 571 and 7762 is coming) and I might do a review... the russian article among other comments has peaked my interest... Speaking of comments, I am one that has always used AS5 ... what would it take for others forum goers to realize there needs to an "AS6"? AS5 dedication is very high.

Conversley... what would it take to convince me Coolabs liquid metal is ok? lol

EDIT: Ok i see what you mean, i dont see a pdf for 7783D.... however, the graph appears to show 7783D has the same thermal conductivity as as 7762, it's just more "liquidy" lol

Cool, do us a favor and report back on your temp changes on whatever you apply it to, dont forget to record ambient temp.

Fresh 7762

Hey guys I decided to fill an hour with testing of X23-7762....

I'll let the burn in happen (we'll see if that makes a difference) but Ill share some preliminary results.

I have had AS5 on the cpu (size of a rice grain method) for one full week and during tonights testing period it was yielding idles (core temp for all measurements) of 34c and loads of 62c (Orthos small ftt, priority 9, for 3 minutes.)

With a fresh application of x23-7762 I was getting an idle of 31c and the same load test of 65c.

Ambient was 19c for both tests under a Thermalright Si-120 (non mirror lapping) with a medium panaflo sitting at 1000rpm, 1.4v applied to the CPU (yes I have vdroop on this board,) e6400 CPU Freq. 490x7 (3430Mhz), case side panel removed for both tests...

Application was ok. 7762 is much less dense than As5 but I got a good application down I think... we'll let this burn in, see if it makes any difference and then I'll move onto G751 or another application 7762 (btw, i have found no documentation describing how ShinEtsu thinks their TIM's should be applied on cpus.)

7762 Application (Note: After I shot this picture I thought there was just the tinyest bit too much so I paired it down a bit)

IKIK... read this as well, talk about differences of 7783...

http://www.fastlanehw.com/forums/arc...dex.php/t-1685

this one as well

http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.p...ight=Shin+Etsu

I may have applied too much...

I'm used to following the directions from Arctic Silver, but it now occurs to me that they're probably way too conservative and even less (maybe half as much) than a size of a grain of rice should be used... anyone else agree?

ok I placed an order of Shin Etsu X23-7783D from this site
http://ajigo-store.stores.yahoo.net/se7783d.html

Now just to let you know, im using a 3200+ @ 2.6ghz, the cpu's heat spillage is much lower than your overclocked e6400 I think.

Wow... lesson learned about the X23-7762... DO NOT rely on th HSF to spread it around... I removed my first application and there was way too much sitting over the core... Ill spread it on IHS and HSF bottom and use credit card to remove excess next time...
