We had fun on 02/17/2007 afternoon playing with about 20 liters of LN² and our mate Skirms_fr's Copper-Alu pot.
Umbre_tombetoile from Overclocking-Masters.com and LuiGi from Cooling-Masters.com were at home to do some benching. Results were'nt really impressive because of "limited" CPUs. Paradoxically, with more than 10 Intel Core 2 Duos processors, those we managed to bench weren't unforgivable clockers.
We began with Umbre's E6600 which on air was tested up to 530FSB. Unfortunately, it was really hard to get this chip to really interesting clocks. It eventually did 5.1GHz Spi capable with both cores enable, but froze shortly after the single and only one sub-10s run we ever achieved this day.
Our aim was clearly sub-10s and we didn't take the time to save more screenshots than this one. It is Umbre's personal best.
Our first mounting was so ty that it was required to do it again (look at the Speedfan temp; 'only' -74C...). BTW, apparts from that frozen sub-10s run, our new mounting (which was better than the first one) didn't allow us to do good things...
After benching Umbre's E6600 we decided to change for an X6800 and an Asus Commando both lent by my bro Quent from PC-Assemblage magazine. This time, we aimed at getting good 3DMark scores with Umbre's 8800GTX.
Again we found yourselves little bit diseappointed by the CPU. I already knew this X6800 for having benched it under 2 stager, but it did pretty bad under liquid nitrogen. No improvement at all between that -85C cascade temp and the -130C LN² temp. Disabling a core didn't help either. We might have ran it too cold. :/
Nevermind, here are the screenies taken by Umbre.
Time now to share the pics... Most of them were taken by LuiGi.

Two days later, I've finished the dewar with another X6800. It remained me only a very little amount of LN², so I've decided to focus on a CPU-Z suicide only.
Once again, the CPU wasn't a gem...
This chip wasn't able to run with more than 1.81V...
Thanks for reading guys ... Next session will be the first one for something called "Grosse Béberthe"!
I'm under contract with Air Liquid company for 50l per month; it's all about insurance... Anyway, LN² is a funny experience to be shared with friends but I really prefer phase
