That's seriously got its uses. Yes, it looks retarded if you use it in a situation where you don't need it, but on some mbs you have no choice. I seriously don't understand what they were thinking when they stuck the NB in that particular spot.

is it supposed to be a copy of the alphacool block or was that just by function design

Bolts in front seem to make it slightly taller than the alphacool block, which just fits under a video card when used on the SB. Might have trouble fitting it there.

It is just a prototype, it's not an end-product.
Ready block, will have an o-ring, it will be well grinded etc.
