All Apogee GT Owners Please Read!
I am not sure if this is the appropriate format for me to post this, so forgive me in advance.
As more and more users implement the Apogee GT o-ring tweak, I wanted to make sure that everyone understands that the base plate needs to be oriented properly in relation to the inlet and outlet ports. here is a schematic that we also posted on the apogee and apogee gt pages, as well as in the tweaking guide:

Bumpage! Gabe, just a thought but perhaps you could notch (or mark) each side that needs to correspond to a barb on the SIDE of the base plate. This is not only for replacing the oring but for anytime the block is opened. I opened mine and had no clue it was a directional base. I assume some could even get assembled incorrectly at the factory as well.

I'll sticky this thread for the time being.
This is some important information for all those who have bought (or are planning) to buy this block.

You're probably right about this.
I'll leave it unstickied, and hope everyone takes the time to read it.

I was wondering if the Apogee's had a directional base. It seemed logical that they did because the pins are set at a particular angle, but now we know for sure.
I will change the title to urge all apogee readers into reading this thread.
BTW, thanks for the heads up Gabe.

what we need is make sure everyone knows about this. First step was to put it on the web site - done - second step was to post in the forums - in process - third step is to include it in the installation guide - in process -

Have the online retailers been contacted about this?
So they can update the correct installation procedure for the base plate on the GT, once customers decide to put the thicker O-ring instead of the regular one..

The instructions that came with my Apogee talked about the pin orientation and had a picture indicating the correct orientation.
What more do you need?

Lets wait first for Nikhsub1 to have the new o-ring and show us the test with apogee gt and fuzion.
Also, i think that we should take care in finding the right design of a nozzle for the fuzion.

My apogee came preassembled. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. So I never really thought much about orientation. Guess when I pull it apart to do o-ring soon, I'll make sure

You can see fairly easily by looking into the block from the barb openings just make sure it looks like the pic at the top of the thread.

Hmmm...I might have to try a bowed base on my custom block, seeing as how the Apogee is nearly a direct ripoff of my Whatblock design (just wider.)

I'd almost be scared to use that on a Kentsfield. Would it be able to fully cover both dies? It looks like it might not be wide enough. lol

Don't sweat on the nozzle design of the Fuzion. D-Tek will be releasing pre-tested nozzle kits for different system characteristics. It was in the works before anyone here ever tested it. They are in the process of testing various size nozzles for the end user, so they will have a clue which one to select for their components. With the flow advantage the Fuzion has you could place quite a decent downsized nozzle in there and still outflow most blocks. I don't think it will be much longer before you see the nozzle kit on their site.

LOL! Yeah, it's definitely from another era.
Would be very easy to make a wider one though. Hmmm...

You could use a specular mass techtrometer with a inverse diode attachment to measure various anomalies in the newtonic molecular substrate of the base-plate...
