E6600 CPU-Z@5229MHz Spi1M@9.985s & Spi32M@10m24.672s under BEFORE's cascade

[System]

E6600 L627B156 OEM
Biostar P965 TForce Deluxe bios 914 Rebels Heaven mod (Vcore, Vdroop, Vdimm mods)
Super Talent PC2-5300 2*512MB
Windows 2k3 Server (tweaked)
Western Digital IDE 80Gb
2-Stager @ -100C unloaded

That's the second time I've got the opportunity of cascading a chip from watercooling.fr. The first E6600 (same stepping as the actual one) clocked up to 4926MHz suicide with only a single core enable.

At that time, I was using a Team Xtreem memory kit and after today's results I think the matter was there. In fact, previous chip was expected to be a better clocker thanks to its excellent performance under watercooling... Nevermind!

So guys, look at that FSB... The Biostar TForce P965 is without doubt an incredible motherboard.

[Suicide CPU-Z]

Vcore = 1.92V
Vdimm = 2.53V
Vmch / ich = 1.82V

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=155620

Super Pi 1M @5051MHz

Vcore = 1.92V
Vdimm = 2.53V
Vmch / ich = 1.82V

Super Pi 2M @5030MHz

Super Pi 16M @4974MHz

Vdimm = 2.53V

Super Pi 32M @4901MHz

Vdimm = 2.53V

Too bad that MBM5 fails to report the temperature while running that cold (also note the CPU clock isn't updated).

I would like to thank Quent for the board and watercooling.fr for the chip.

Thx for reading.

Great result! Do u know Superpi temps of cpu? And one thing is strange to me s shot is much greater than spi shot, so I'm thinking the power unit is not so good on Biostar or I'm wrong?

Thx guys!

@Misko82: I don't know the Spi temps of the CPU, but evap temp was -90C idle to -87C load during Spi. Speedfan temp is generous

The difference between Suicide and Spi isn't that significant here because RAM timings aren't the same and I didn't really looked for the max benchable.

Very nice again Before I cannot get mbm with the 2 core readings working under 0 at any temp i tried. The data file in the link only shows 1 core but at least temp is same as with speedfan for me. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...41&postcount=1

No kidding, you must have a lucky touch.

Actually, I think that 200MHz between max pi and suicide shot is about normal.

Fast as always my friend.

The biostar is better than its foxconn competition. I have no idea why people recommend foxconn over the biostar.

Thx mates!

@Gautam: actually; I think the time could be improved a little because I've forgotten to kill MBM5 (that's why CPU clock isn't updated on dashboard) and some timings might be tightened. Did you received the PM? I think more than ever now an ad-oc scheme would be great based on what I've shared with you.

@T07N: yea you're right!

@dinos22: that's too much for me buddy... Thank you! But I'm not a legend...

On par with (if not better than) even some X6800 with unlocked multis, your 6600 is a very nice chip.

And the modded Biostar is indeed a star. ^^

Thx guys!

This motherboard is great but really strange... may be there is a matter of strap behind that history.

- I can boot at 570FSB*9 (5130MHz) but it won't post, at 560FSB*9 (5040MHz) but windows gets bugged (I mean I can't start a single program instead of task manager), at 550FSB*9 (4950MHz) but windows is very unstable.

- I can boot at 537FSB*9 (4833MHz) but it won't post... and 500FSB*9 (4500MHz) isn't bootable at all... WTF?

wow thats really odd

I may just have to get one of those boards and test it out myself

@DaCoSa: I've recieved your PM buddy, I'll reply ASAP.

@boble76: Thank you mate! (but once again, it isn't my CPU... )

@skirms: May be? I don't know, actually it looks like a matter of compatibility between memory and motherboard. I mean it seems me the problem isn't that significant while setting only CAS4 into the bios and leaving the remaining to Auto. The motherboard is making the memory booting with 4-6-6-16 which is very odd...

It doesn't matter; but sub-10s looks one more time really difficult to achieve because of unstability within the 5050-5100MHz range...

Welcome to the Biostar world , for me it is best to boot with 480, and then oc via clckgen, when I lower multi in bios I can't go as much on max multi wtf? Also board is working very very strange with ram dividers, only 1:1 is working ok for me (memory is micron d9 gmh, team xtreem) and one more thing I notice last BIOS is not user friendly when u oc pci frq, i set in bios 125 and no more hdd, with 914 i could set 200mhz in bios for pci-e, of course using pci old matrox 4mb card, so new bios doesn't lock pci bus. And I almost forgot, sata is better to overclock then ide, ide is on some via based chip, so I thought maybe it would act like pci card, but no sata is better (more fsb until it hangs) i try to disable via ide in bios but then I have no boot? board is crazy
