bday present, wc setup.

well my bday is coming up next wednesday [nov 22nd] and im expecting a decent amount of money. im looking into getting a wc setup, but the thing is i just ordered 3 pairs of shoes that i'll be paying quite a bit for [nike dunks, if ur wondering -- lunar's, lucky's and tweed's] so im assuming ill only actually receive 2 of the pairs. giving me a few bucks to play with for wc. being completely new to wc, im thinking right now just getting a kit from petra's: http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecodaloed.html [dd lovers edition] and ordering a swiftech mcres-micro with it. assuming i do get the money how does this sound? should i just buy piece by piece to get better price:performance ? will i need to ordering anything else at all - im assuming absolutely everything i need will be in the kit.

honeslty

spend ur money on a better cpu or vga better than on a wcing setup

sell ur mobo & ur cpu and get urself DQ6 or DS3 or Asus mobo + Tuniq Tower or BigTyphoon Cooler + E6600 will be much better than W/Cing

sorry for not answering ur question but i and many other users have bought w/cing and other than being silent it is not worth the money for 200~400mhz more from ur cpu

Honestly if you do not do some serious overclocking and your temperature is fine at this moment, theres no point of going for watercooling. i rather buy a Tuniq Tower - 120 Heatsink than going for watercooling.

hey guys try not to put down the guy too much, it is on a budget pc and still a C2D is no laughing matter. and conservative OCing is not bad really.

the kit above only lacks a radbox to be able to mount it externally out back.
and the usual out of stock swiftech items like the MCR220 QP radiator but i guess the BI would still do fine

also note if you want to be able to upgrade cpu and mobo later on you might want to invest in the aquaextreme mp05 LE universal block also can be bought from Petra's.

as for oc'ing id like to break 3.6, but if i go any higher than 3.255 right now my load temps are like 65... i can get upto 3.5 safely now but my idle temps are like 55 and load are like 70-75. thats why i wanna get water [temps w/ coretemp]. and of course the wc looks real cool, and is extremely silent.
