es 6700 and x6800 temps under SS
All I am trying to figure out what I should be expecting from my SS units running full load on an es e6700 or an x6800 say at 1.65 vCore (no vdroop) at around 4.3ghz folding both cores.
Applicable mobos:
P5B Deluxe
P5W Deluxe
P5W64 Pro
Accuracy is important so please only respond if you have actually tested one of these chips using a SS unit.
Idle temps would be nice to know too.
Thanks for your help...

Chilly1 SS r402
Moded Mach II with Chilly style head r507 -- tuned for load
Im not concerned about the Chilly1 temps but I would like to know what other folks are able to achieve with a highly tuned (by one of the best guys in the business -- names withheld) Mach II with r507 or r402.
My full load temps seem high to me.
I am measuring via ASUS Probe II and Speedfan

No r507 after researching I opted for r507 because its colder and it doesnt get the compressor as hot...

Actually the temperature we are trying to get down on temp is not evap temp but the core temp of CPU... and it looks tad higher than either of us were expecting when evap temp is a little colder than expected... (k-type on side of evap toward middle)...
We are a bit stumped at the moment. (Oh it's mach II modded by me)

Thanks Jinu I didnt want to mention any names. Your work as always is top notch. Im just trying to figure out what other folks have been getting to see if maybe my temps are normal.
Rubiconx3 I thought you were holding much lower temps after you reseated last night. Didnt you mention something like -48c idle at 1.6 vCore and -30c something load? If your temps are closer to mine then maybe its just these chips running hotter than we expected.
As a reference point last night I was able to hold between -12c and -14c at vCore 1.6 and a 425x10 OC folding both cores for 1 1/2 hours. Idle was around -26c at those settings. Also evap temp never went lower than -44c or so...based off the probe you installed.

See that -44c is what makes me wonder... with that heavy load it should be much warmer in -40 to -38c range... -_-;
(After all it is K-type thermocouple and thermocouple reader)... sigh... and it doesen't explain F,C change on thermocouple reader either since.... they do converge around there... arghh... (brain whacked).
At least I am glad to see you figured out how to hot wire it ;P I put the power switch with controller dying all together in mind since it was showing wierd symptons.

Nice work Jin you do an excellent mod...

Pardon me, SDumper, would you mind giving me some more details about how you got better contact with CPU? I also have a wonderful Jinu unit, a V2000 unit, and I'm trying to get best contact possible with my cpu (X6800, P5W DH).
Please explain this spring tension remount. Thank you!

First thing you want to do is make sure your cpu's IHS is flat and not concave or convex.. I have seen both on the Conroes... Also you want to make sure that you dont overtighten your mounting screws because you can actually push the cpu away from your evap.. Always put a little dab of ceramique in the middle of the IHS and mount your evap like you normally would.. Then tighten it down so its snug.. Then take it back off and see how the ceramique is spread.. If its still just in the center of the IHS then you want to tighten your mounts more. Do this till the ceramique is a thin almost opaque film on the IHS.. What I usually do is mark the screws with a magic marker so I know where to tighten to... I hope this helps

I've also got a jinu v2000 unit and I took the springs from a storm mounting kit, and use them to put tension on the chip, made a world of difference in mounting pressure, keeps it constant every time

The difference was dramatic my temps dropped closed to -10c after using 4 springs and 4 oversized washers along the mounting screws (this allowed for an even pressure)...but even without the spings if I had applied a looser tightening and pushed the gaskette up higher I think I would have recieved similiar results. Frankly I am amazed at how much better the unit cools than my Chilly1. Jin told me it would be a big difference but wow!!

This thread has pushed me over the edge.
I was cautiously approaching the moment of decision on getting one of Jinu117 SS units; now I am going to purchase one.
Jin please look for my e-mail that I sent today.
I have a couple of questions therein.

You won't be disappointed. I've had mine for over a month and it was worth every penny

Just thought I'd add that the core2duo's are a very hot chip, especially once you push past ~1.4 volts, temperatures just skyrocket. However they seem to suck up vcore for breakfast, lunch, and dinner so long as the chip is kept cold enough. Congrats on your overclocks.
