4GHZ Dual Prime Stable under Air/Water/Phase?
Are there any peolpe here who can run 4GHZ dual prime stable (and who run it 24/7) either on water or air? How about phase?
When I finally reinvest in a desktop (broke down my 165/XTX a while ago) I am going to be on the hunt for a chip that can do that, but was wondering if anybody already has?
Or how about close, such as 3950 24/7?
Thanks in advance.
Cedric
EDIT: I understand there is a 4GHZ databse, but it doesn't specify if it's dual/quad prime stable (Conroe/ Kentsfield respectfully) - that's what I need to know - if it's possible. If it is, my hunt begins very soon.

Personally, I'm more interested in air/water results. In Hong Kong, humidity is a huge problem with regards to phase.

Your looking for a very special cpu, i havent seen any orthos stable 4ghz chips on air and even water for that matter.
There are alot that can hit 4ghz but orthos stability is tough. Which is the reason i started the 4ghz phase thread and even with phase there are some setups that arent dual prime stable.

Yeah, that was the information I was looking for.
Too bad eh? I was about ready to splash out as well... been saving up for a few months... planned to go with a bang.
Oh well. With phase it seems possible, though at very high voltages which I am a little aprehensive about.
So it seems that 3.6-3.8 seems about best on water dual prime stable. Oh well, it'll have to do.
If anybody else is running higher though, please do post your setup here, including week and batch number!

I have a very good 6600 and it "works" fine at 3900 MHz.
But all Core2 CPUs go a whole lot higher semi-stable and then take a huge step backwards when you want N-mprime stable clocks. I had to go to 3660 and then it was overall faster to go to the 1033 MHz strap and 3600 MHz.
The gap between "works" and "mprime-stable" is much higher with Core2 than it was with AMD64.

here's the best prime i have been able to do on water. I'm motherboard limited though. I need to find out what is getting hot and instable and sink it. Mosfets are sinked and no change in results. This is with cool air from outside though.

But 4ghz prime stable is rare

Managed to run 4000MHz dual-Prime one time for about 17min, but with a ambient of 16°C and 1,58V. In germany there are a few guys with bought waterchillers, they can run +4000MHz with ~ 14-16°C watertemp. But with normal roomtemps i think there is close to zero cpus out there who can manage 4GHz primestable with plain water/air.

Ive got a good chip, Step 5 b1.
My best is 3.94 Ghz for 13 hours on water with 1.56v in bios. This in the middle of a hot summer too
Though i also managed nearly 4 hours with 1.58v in bios. At the time I wasnt willing to goto 1.6v which im sure would have nailed it f0r 12+hours. i havent got that gem of a P5W Dh motherboard anymore to try it

Orthos blend is the toughest test in the prime series, my best results so far has been 3.825 ghz on water with a e6600 stepping 5 es. Using the Asus P5WDG2 Pro, phase 4ghz was no problem at all, apart from the mobo limit of 445fsb.
So small and large fft's should be possible up to 3.95ghz (on some steppings with water cooling for 24/7, vcore on a e6600 is generally around 1.53 to 1.58), running orthos blend for 8 hours, pegs you back a little. As uopt said there is a larger gap than Amd in what you can get away with fsb wise over the Orthos blend test with Conroe (on some boards at least).
On phase I have seen around 4.28ghz completely Orthos blend stable with a retail week 31 x6800 under phase, for 22 hours by my friend Diego (the cpu can bench with super pi single runs in the 4.5ghz region), again that was using the Asus P5WSG2 Pro, I'd like to see what the next gen of boards allows in comparison really, especially for the 4mb cache Conroe's.
regards
Raja
