2 for the road.
http://www.apple.com/
Yup, MacBook Pros get Core 2 Duos, shipping immediately. 2.16 and 2.33s available. Also a handful of other upgrades: FW800 for all, 6x+ DVDDL for all, 1GB (single stick) RAM standard (upgradable up to 3GB: 1GB + 2GB stick), 120GB 5400RPM standard (160GB, 5400RPM available [with perp recording, IIRC], as well as a 200GB 4200RPM). Price points haven't changed.
Only question is: glossy or regular?
(I'm going regular, fwiw)

Yeah I would have so gotten the MacBook Pro even before if it had came with 1GB of RAM and 120GB HDD for $2,000.
17" Model now includes 2GB and huge HDD. I am so sad...maybe Apple would trade me? lol Wishful thinking. I have only had my Mac for about 2 months now.

even if it is opened pretty sure you can take it back. just tell them you aren't satisfied with the performance and look angry.

so I couldn't wait till the estimated shipping date. I cancelled my order, and ran down to one of the many local apple stores and picked up my new macbook pro. I haven't been this excited in some time now.

Mine should be here the 8th....I can't wait
Got it with 2GB and the 160GB drive, the small savings to get stuff from newegg wasn't worth the hassle of two warranties.
BTW, 15.4in, 2.16GHz.

Egg's got G.Skill for ~$110 shipped. Not a bad deal, IMO. Really glad they went with a base of 1GB sticks
