wiimote cant handle sunlight

At a Nintendo Wii Demo it seemed that the Wiis Wiimote has trouble functioning when sunlight is shining directly into the sensor.

This seems to happen cause the Infrared sensor the Wiimote uses is alot more advanced then the usual infrared sensors.

one could say Sunlight is the gamers natural enemy but stil this looks asif the wii test team has been sleeping. i wonder if the pic in the article is of the mentioned Demo. If yes then you cansee that there isnt even alot fo sunlight there.

that'll suck for people during the initial launch, but that'll be taken care of lickety split.

well its been known for a long time that the wiimote doesn't like various light sources. If it was a lickety split fix then it would have been fixed by now

i've heard mention from certain sources that they've already got a fixed controllor/sensor component in testing, but it's not available at large enough quantity to distribute to all the demo groups

Damn sunlight
That stupid sun makes your oc go nuts in summer, distracts you while "working" on the PC and now it even interferes with the Wii controller.
