Retention clip removal for Mach II and P5W/P5B

I just purchased a Mach II gt and have heard that the shape of the retention clip can be a mounting problem for the P5B Deluxe and the P5W deluxe. Does anyone know of a safe way to remove the mounting clip and a safe way to insure the CPU doesnt become misaligned when seating a Mach II gt head?

Ok maybe I should rephrase the question:

Has anyone used a Mach II gt with a P5B or P5W mobo? If so how did you get a flush mount of the evap head to the CPU?

My Chilly head works perfectly for my e6700 and my P5W but I just purchased a second Phase unit (Mach II) and an e6400/P5B combo and when the gear arrives I wanted to get it up and running quickly.

--edit-- e6400 and P5B Deluxe have arrived and I am not impressed. I will be selling the mobo and chip and purchasing an e6600 for this phase unit.

the best thing would be to swap the evap for much easier to mount and insulate... that would require gassing so you would have a much better unit

im sure you can find some1 here that can "mod" your prommy
