iMac Update - 24" 'HD' model and Core 2 Duos!
Yup....Core 2 Duo iMacs are here and immediately available. There's also a new 24" 'HD' model with a very bright 1920x1200 screen.
Also of note is the Mac Mini no longer offering Core Solo as a CPU option (no price changes, just a free second core ).

Aye, those are nice upgrades for sure. Was looking at either the Mac Pro or iMac 24" but since I already have an Apple Cinema Display 23" the Mac Pro seems more solid

So here in something interesting, the iMac 24" uses an MXM-II slot for the videocard. So in theory you should be able to upgrade the videocard to another MXM-II card in the future. i.e. 8600GT

All of the Macs will eventually be Core 2 Duos of course...
Supposely the MacBook Pros are next for upgrades.

Well in the MacBook they solder the damn CPUs down so you can't replace them.
