leaking radiator

My computer is done, but whenever i'm leak testing (which i'm still doing by the way) My fitting keeps leaking. The past 4 days i've been trying every means necessary to stop it leaking, but have failed everytime.

My first attempt was 5 layers of teflon tap, it started leaking so i tryied super glue and it still leaked, so i tried putting some silicon cauk over that and still failed. At that point i said screw it i'll dismantel the radiator and redo the fittings. So fir this attempt i tried liquid teflon and sealed the outside of the fittings with silicon cauk. I was pretty confident it was going to seal, but nop inevitably it leaked again. I've pretty much have given up, i don't know what to do. I'm pretty dissapointed in thermochill, they make these expensive radiators that took me over a week and a half to clean, and still all those tin particles arent out, and they give the most ****y fittings on the planet. I'd rather spend an extra $100 for the damn thing to come clean out of the factory with fittings that actually work.

Anyone at all have any suggestions. I'm pretty bumbed out at the moment, i've been working on this water cooling project for too long, and now i'm not even sure if its worth to water cool, its just been way too tedious.

Where is it leaking? The actual threading portion of the rad?

I know its coming from the fitting. And yes its leaking from the threads. I'd rather just find some fittings that use rubber seals, because that would honestly work a whole lot better.

I didnt really like their barbs either, but I never had any leaking issues with them.

Order the Cooltechnica Barbs.

are you wrapping the teflon right? It should be wraped tightly nd that alont should make it not leak..takes 5-10 layers though but if it still leaks after that there is either a crack or the barb is a bit too small.

of course i was wraping the teflon right, but as of now i'm using teflon paste which molds better, and its still leaking. The barbs that the radiator come with are just to soft, and don't seal properly. I'm gonna buy some new barbs, so now i just need to know what size threads the radiator uses.

And trice what barbs did you buy, i see barbs on their page, but i don't know what size the rad uses, fittings that use a rubber seal is prefered. Thanks in advance.

Our rads don't include fittings. You are left to choose from a range when purchasing from us, so ultimately the choice of fittings is yours.

If you didn't purchase the rad from us, then the fittings are what the reseller chose to bundle with it - nothing to do with us. They have the choice of buying whatever fittings they choose from us - most resellers choose not to and source their own fittings - nothing to do with us.

3/8" BSP fittings, metal, with 5/6 wraps of PTFE tape WILL seal EVERY time if done right. I know this as I've built well over 1000 rigs with every one done the same way, with the same fittings, and the same PTFE tape.

You'll find the correct fitting thread type for EVERY rad produced by us listed in it's description at www.thermochill.com - tis easy enough to find.

We make radiators the same price as everyone else in this country. It's YOUR exchange rate and economy that makes it so expensive in your country. Again, nothing to do with us. If you want them cleaning further, then price will go up further. Whilst everyone is content to sit and moan about the price, we aren't going to make them cost more by putting them thru a lengthy cleaning process.
