    Question KHX Serial Codes ?

Ok, so I just got my 2x512 KHX kit thing. I ordered the PC3200K2/1G, the non a one with hopes of getting some BH-5 here...The sticker on the heat spreader also has a string of code numbers, wondering if they mean anything about what is under the spreader:

    9905193-013.A01 K2
    1377535 2.6v

im not sure if any one has figured out what this code means:

    9905193-013.A01 K2
    1377535 2.6v

but we do know, that since its khx3200 it is indeed bh5.

Hot damn. Sadly, Mr. AN7 is going back to excal tomorrow. The thing is a pile. At least mine is. Looks pretty, thats about it. Gonna have to wait for a different board, or a newer revision.

    May I disagree?

Bought four KHX PC3000 256MB (hand picked by macci) stick 2 weeks ago, all sticks have identical codes:

    Line 1: KHX3000/256
    Line 2: 9905200-017.A00
    Line 3: 1168031 - 2.5V

Under the heatspreader I found Kingston D328DW - 50 chips, in every stick. Chips are certainly NOT Winbond BH-5 chips (chip legs are different in BH-5)

No problem driving these sticks 245MHz 2-2-2-5 @ 3.28V in DC with Abit AI7 mobo.

When I bought these sticks, I tested one stick with almost identical code in the sticker attached on heatspreder:

Line 1 and 2 were identical, but line 3 was little different:
    1122193 - 2.5V

Underneath the heatspreaders I found Kingston 4.5ns chips.
This stick had errors in Memtest 200MHz 2-2-2-5 @ 3.2V, so it was definately with CH-5 chips.

i just looked at my khx 3000 and its A00 also
i peeked under the HS and it has kingston chips on it.

im doing a bunch of testing but so far anything over 190fsb will eventually bsod on me,even at 2.9vdimm.

trust me they will be sold soon!

Hey guys im new here.. I was wondering if the khx3200 with bh-5 had a bigger chance to run faster than the khx 3000 with bh-5. Because if the module was picked as a 3000 it means that i could not run pc3200?, or is it just marked as a pc3000 without being test at a faster speed?

Rated speed doesnt matter. Only thing matters is the chip that is used in stick. KHX PC3000 and PC3200 will perform equally, if both sticks are using BH-5 chips.

If you´re lucky and have BH-5 or BH-6 chips, then 230MHz 2-2-2-5 should be possible. My (four identical) KHX PC3000 (BH-6) sticks can run perfectly flawless 230MHz 2-2-2-5 on Abit AI7 mobo with 3.0V.

With 3.28V my worst stick can run 245MHz without any errors.

Thats my CH5 sticks that are doing 225 @ 3v at the moment at
    2-2-2-7 timings without a prob.

I ahd 4 BH5 that wouldnt do crap for me...maybe my board "prefers" the CH over the BH...compat issue possibly.

just an update as i bashed kingston ram a bit earlier in this thread.
its abit that blows now! lol
the problem was pin pointed after extensive memtest86 runs.
the problem is my nf7-2 rev2 wont run 185fsb in dual channel!

the ram is now in slots 1+2 single channel and running 210 2.9v 2.0-2-2-6!

only option is rma the mobo back to newegg,as im sure it qualifies as it wont run 200fsb. gotta love technicalitys

anyhow im not gonna,i know its dumb not to but its my only pc i own.im not going threw pc withdraws.
im happy with 210SC for now anyhow as i plan on in the next 2 months upgrading anyhow.
