I understand why there is a limit to post in FS but why do you need 100 to browse through it?

Probably because they don't want the newbs trying to strike deals by bypassing the forums and sending PMs instead.

I have a long way to go, but I think it'll be worth it to trade with established members. Hopefully that means dealing with more experienced builders and fewer lowballers. Trading on Hardforums and Anandtech is driving me crazy

I guess the PM function could be disabled too. Really I asked because I was at 99 and it brought me over

Can we do price checks in the sale forum?

I have an X800XT PE BB ATI with a Koolance WB on it, and I am thinking of selling it. I don't know what it is worth to someone here.

Are you saying that PMs would be disabled for anyone under 100 posts? Because I don't think there's a way to check if someone is sending a PM just to someone on the for sale forum. So that would mean it would be disabled completely. Somehow, I think the system works just fine the way it is

I won't even comment on the frivolous post part

The for sale on the forums is a limited priviledge... I doubt they would really want to put time in it for tools like that.... Which I personnaly think, arent worth.....

Ok, if you are under 100post and is browsing the for sale because you would have the permission to BROWSE and see a VERY good deal.... What will you do? For sure you will PM ASAP!

And anyway, the priviledge to post in the forums is only a part of the priviledge... The real one is being able to see it, because anyway, any deals should be dealed and conclude by PM.

    What tools?

I don't mean for the forum to install some type of price checker.

I meant, can I go in the FS forum and say, "Hey, I have this vid card, and what it is worth used to someone here."

Yeah, I guess that is the best way. I can't get a good picture of the damn thing...I have watercooling and don't want to remove the card for a pic, and I can't seem to get a good shot while it is in the stupid case.

Problem 2? The card I have is a retail Built by ATI. Through price checks online, they still go for about $70 more than a Sapphire OEM version of the card. So...do I price it compared to that, or to the one I own? That may sound dumb, but unless someone has to have ATI stamped on there, they can get the same card new for less than mine used.

    1. a bad pic doesnt matter, the pic is sjust as aproof that you really have the hardware your selling, as long as you can see the card on it its ok, bad angle blurry dark doesnt matter.

    2. the difference is quality control and support i think, wich is better for the bba cards. but im not sure. just start with a higher price and mention the same thing you said here, that the cards cost more in retail. if you dont get any feedback you can lower the price bit by bit

some people said they had to wait for several hours, sometimes we backup the database or perform other changes to the site, so it can take more than one hour
it should usually be less than one hour though, yeah

I sold it to a buddy of mine for $400 shipped, so I don't need to worry about it anymore thankfully. I will know for the future if I need to sell anything though.
