Since my Enhance 520w was far tto loud i decided to silence it and did so by applying a 120mmfan on to it instead of teh second 80mm fan.
Ingredients:
one Enhance ENS520A-EPS12V 520W PSU
one Smartbox 400W crappy PSU w. a 120mm fan and the cover
one bosch sting saw
one black&decker electicdrillmachine
one 1,5mm drill bit
a lot of free time
Preparation,
take of the back cover of the enhance unplug the 80×80×10mm fan, rmove the two pin fanconnector form the enhance fan.
Then take the smartbox PSu and take a good laugh when reading the specs
(15Amps on 12V).
Remmove the cover of the smartbox togehther whith the fan, remove the fan from the inside., Take teh Smartbox cover and lay it on top of teh original Enhance cover so that you can mark the drill holes for the mounting screws, and this is very important do this BEFORE adjusting the fan opening! The Smartbox has a offcentre fan, since the fan wouldn't fit inside the enhance it has to be on teh outside and if its totally to the left it wouldnt fit into my case. After you marjed the drill holes drill the holes w a 1,5mm drill. Then check if the holes fit onto the Enhance, If thats the case, proceed to the centering of the fan hole, I done that whith a sting saw but a dremmel would do just as fine.
As done this we can proceed to preparing the fan, As the enhace uses a standard two pin fan header, while teh Smartbox uses a small two pin fan header ( as the ones found on VGA cards), we have to modify teh connector as well, so I removed the insulation on the wires as well on the fan as well on the wires whoch had the connections for a fan header and simply tangeld them toghter.
Then mount the fan onto the cover I used some insulation tape on the inside to prevent any case of contact whith the interiours of the PSU. After doing this I connected the fan to the header started teh PSU to check if its still working, after teh OSU passe dthis test, I screwed teh cover onto teh PSU and planted it into ma Casetek.
