Yes I build it, and I cut a bit for insulation so i can isolate the air get into the backside of motherboard.

It's always my pleasure to have master like Charlie here. Man, I just dropped my fx55 and it got broken( 14 pins).

JJcom, I will need to get mature enough to work with King of OC.

If they aren't bent too bad you might be able to use a razer/needle something to gently push them back into proper form. I've done that a few times. Sucks though because they do weaken, always scared to death they'll break/fall out so I leave em in the socket for a while after that.

Sux to hear that happen to your gem.....it really does.

Funny story, I broke a pin off my 2.8C a good while back, and it didn't effect a single thing, I wish I would have taken a pic of which pin it was, cus it's been fine every since.

Cant RMA a broken FX-55 !!! OMG I think AMD should certainly send you one, you've advertised their product enough times at insane speeds too. But if you ultimately cant RMA it, a repair job would be a good idea considering its not a Winnie ITS AN FX-55 !!!

    hmmm

You can unsolder all the broken pins and solder replacements on. All you need is to track down the supplier of the raw pins. There aren't that many pin makers. Its just a thin PCboard with pins on the bottom, and the DIE soldered ontop and some resistor/capacitors soldered on. Simple "concept" actually. If the chip is a keeper....seriously... then put the effort in repairing it and DONT fk it up next time.
