I'm using the beta bios as well too. Only diff I see is being able to change multiplier in bios, which I can't believe they shipped these things that way, other than that, still testing my new 3500.
I seem to be pretty stable at 2600mhz with 1.575v set in bios. ABIT EQ is showing 1.6v
How high is too high on the voltage with these winchesters? I'm already .2 over and don't want to ruin my new proc.

1.65v seems to be fairly safe.

i would have much rather have bought the DFi and ABit, than the MSI and DFI.

maybe i'll still buy the ABIT, but i gotta give myself a good reason to justify the purchase...

I burned a 3000+ Winnie at 1.7vcore.... maybe alittle more with stock cooling.

Im still used to the nForce2 days when you could throw 2volts at a chip with good air.

blah... got DFI for now. Couldn't wait. Let's hope I will hear something about vdimm sooner or later on this board and I might change ship if DFI doesn't prove to be what i was looking for. Side by side bench @ stock speed will be nice too (one of few things I can count on Anandtech... don't trust their oc'ability reviews any more)

Awwwww Jin...you gave up? I'm holding out in hopes this gets fixed, but I think I will put some faith in Abit and buy one in hopes of them resolving the OC issues.

This board apparently cannot hold a candle to DFI and you are still hoping for it. Why? To spend $50 more on plastic gadgets?

Well, after that wonderfull fiasco called the IC7-MAX3, I have removed my rose colored glasses when looking at Abit mobo's. That thing was billed as an overclockers mobo... oh wait, MOSFETS burn out, vTT wouldnt track past 2.8vDIMM, unstable rails... blah blah... I had a total of 6 different boards from all the RMA's and I still have 2 dead boards. None of these were killed by my OC'ing, trust me on this one. My P4C800E Dlx and P4P800 are still chuggin along just nicely having been abused a LOT more than I ever had a chance to with the Abit boards.

I have few hopes for this board. After reading the Abit Fatal1ty boards, it looks like this board is also all bling and no zing (a direct quotefrom a Fatal1ty board owner I saw at the Abit boards)

Oh... i forgot to mention that in this beta bios, ABIT upgrade the nVidia RAID bios to version 4.81 (previous stock bios : 4.78)

I will check if there is other changes made

Didn't give up... anyone who knows me would know most board don't last avg 1 month in my rig :P I seem to not be happy with something for too long (which I am trying very hard to restrain myself)
Once voltage issues on memory clears up, I have feeling this board will be easier on me for few things such as placement of fans, etc. And over all cost after calculating price of fans, sinks, etc comes out even with DFI (both are overpriced by easy $30-40 atm. Just look at how much are Asus A8N SLI selling now for.
Also one thing I really like is placement of northbridge which I can put nice cooler without having to worry.
If the DFI board treats me well enough, I guess it will be hard to trying to move to Abit though. X850XT PE just came in today and waiting for DFI board to arrive tomorrow. I shall see how it plays all together. Who knows, it might be the PCI-e solution I was looking for.... (than only thing to wait on will be venice core for a while).

Dude you sound like Agent Smith from the Matrix. This is the part where I say "because I choose to." First of all whoever made the DFI boards black & yellow should be dragged out back & shot. Secondly, the DFI has had alot of problems and so far the Fatal1ty seems very stable, although it isn't OCing extremely well. I am getting this board because it's stable, looks nice, and will probably be a good OCer minimum...which is fine since I am not buying an FX-55 for it.
