Post your Max. Mem Speed @ A8N-SLi
Hi,
Well since i cannot get this board stable over 240-245 i want to know what you guys can do with it.
Im using the exact same cpu and memory(TCCD) that i used on my 9nda3+ wich resulted in a stable 292 FSB.
I checked almost erverything :
Vdimm Voltage
Timings
Divider
HTT (1x/2x/3x)
Blue memory slots
Black memory slots
Bios 1003-003/1003-004
PCI-E lock checked !
Only shamino got this board to 279 or so with some strange timings.

I looked in every thread about the a8n-sli i can find but in none of them i saw a screenie with 240+ memory.

I cannot get anything stable above 240 1T. Checked with memtest86+ V1.2, anything above 240 will result test #6 massive error. However, I did manage to get up to 300 with 2T.
I have GSkill PC4400.
Vdimm Voltage = 2.6
Timings = 2.5-3-3-10
Divider = 400
HTT (1x/2x/3x) = 4x
Blue memory slots used
Bios 1002
PCI-E lock
I have a screenie at 266 2T

doesn't that everest score kinda suck?? (no offense)
this is what I posted and I can't even go over 2.8v on my EB otherwise I could push it well past 259mhz

Well, the highest FSB I can get on my Asus A8V is about 233, and then I get errors in Memtest. I've heard the highest the A8V can go is about 260. I've always thought it was my memory that is holding me back, but now I'm starting to think otherwise, that it's the board.
You'd think there would be more game site reviews out there for this board, but there aren't. Maybe it's because the board costs $269, not cheap.

i can post at 305 3-4-4-7 mem 1:1 2T
or 263 2.5-3-3-7 mem 1:1 1T
or 293 2.5-3-3-7 mem 1:1 2T
dunno what's so hard on this board, it's my first time overclocking an A64 and it's heaven.
The only negative thing on this board is the 1.650 Vcore which gives me only 1.568V, bet if I had more volts I could get over my current 2650Mhz
Btw I'm using OCZ PC3200 EL rev2 and everything is with stock cooler
I can run the mem at 320 using clockgen but i can't boot using 320 in the bios
my everest score using 293 2.5-3-3-7 2T is 8061 and sisoft sandra is 7077
using latest beta bios
if anyone wants a screenshot just contact me and i'll email it to you (don't have any webspace yet)
EDITED: i'm using 2T on the 293 HTT sorry for that

293 2.5,3,3,7 1t and sisoft score of 7077 is awful, memory score i take it? at around 263 right now giga nf4 i'm hitting 7400. you running 2 256 sticks maybe, shouldn't make that diff but, i dunno, what multiplier you running? errm, anyway, something is definately missing bandwidth wise there.

my a8v deluxe maxes out at 270-275 but I have since lowered my LDT to 4x but haven't tried higher than 260 since my ram is limited at that level with my low voltage.
when I upgrade next I won't be buying an ASUS mobo which is sad because I have been an ASUS buyer over the last 3yrs but the newer DFI mobos are just more flexible and can OC more.
kinda sucks I have OCZ eb that can do over 270+ with 3.5v but the OVP limts me to 2.9v even with a booster. Then over 270 the Mobo isn't stable so even if I could OC my ram it would still crash.
no more complaining ASUS isn't going to listen so I will be switching.
too bad too Asus used to be the creme of the crop, top of the heap and now its good but not the best.
***jumps off soap box***
gives back thread sorry

sorry it had to be 2T, allready edited it.
i'm running 2 512 sticks and i'm pretty sure i can get some 150-250 more bandwidth after some tweaking, but i really need more vcore right now, want to have some high mhz' on my proc as well

Nice to see you guys try to get some serious scores.
Somehow this board is giving allot of people hell with high FSB and 1T.
My guess its a bios issue wich hopefully can be fixed otherwise im ordering myself and '
MSI diamond or platinum 4 SLI these boards havent got any of these problems .... for some odd reason.

A8N-SLI Max Mem Clock
I'm having big problems running 1t with this motherboard. Here is a picture of max MEM clock, but at 2t
Are now running it at 312x9 with devider so RAM is at 400 cl.2 -2 -2 -10 1t. This gives me more performance, and is stable so far. But I hope a future BIOS will fix the 1t problem. On my old MSI card I was running 312x9 and a devider so the RAM was at 500 cl.2.5 -3 -3 -10 1t. This is impossible with the A8N-SLI so far. Oh well, am still happy

Do the newer bios help with the overclocks? On OCZ plat rev.2, like quite a few other posts I have read (here and elsewhere), I can't seem to get over 240fsb at 1t.

new bios' don't help the overclocking, well at least not the V's. I can do 266 stable with my ocz plat rev 2 at 1T, but i'm hoping for a new bios which can solve the 1t-"issue" soon.

Have some Geil PC4400 550MHz RAM I'm going to test after work today. That way I can find out if it's TCCD chip related with the 1t problem at high FSB. These chips are not TCCD chips, but the Ultra X I'm currently using are. And they won't cooperate with high FSB and 1t.

Yeah. I didn't notice any difference from 1003.006. The 1t problem is still there, at least for me. Oh well. Sendt Asus another mail today from work. Guess I'll have a reply from them on monday.

i should have a A8N-E SLI Deluxe with 3.8v vdimm mod by next week so can do some memory testing

With those newest 008 bios it will at least go to something beyond 240 at 1t, but its not stable at all. Even at just 255 (with HTT set to 3x (just incase), and even when I tried running crap 2.5,3,4,10 timings) it takes a drump if you try to do much of anything (not super pi stable to 1M even). At least I dont get the message about my system not loading on its last try everytime I boot up.

I'm impressed, I think shimano is the only other person I have seen running high speeds like that on this mobo. I'm just curious though, would it not run at a higher multi? Thats a 55, so its underclocked by like 400mhz. Does higher cause stability issues? Either way I cant touch that so good job.
