performance is dependant on the game ya benching. In some games 2*6600gts perform the same as a single 6800gt, in others there miles ahead of a single 6800gt

6800NU PCX has 12 pipes only, not 12+4locked.

I haven't seen tests in which 2X6600GT was "miles ahead" of 1X6800GT, but I'm interested in learning more - can you point me in the right direction?

yes, get 2x 6800nu, then softmod it with rivatuner 15.3 and enable all the pipes. 6600gt is faster than 9800pro, but slower than 6800nu.

when those standard 6800's are widely availible and when we know which GPU's tend to mod well, that'll be when i'll be picking up a couple of 256MB 6800's to run in SLI

but moneys tight, I need a half decent ociloscope, signal generator, new DAC, another power amp, active crossover/pre amp and comp system upgrades not to mention the other trillion things

anyone know next weeks lottery numbers by any chance

    he said he had x800pro.
    i wouldnt change that for a 2 6600GT or 2x6800nu

so if u not planning to get 2x6800GT/ultra i would stick to the x800

    I think 2x6800NU 12P would beat 1xX800P 12P by quite a margin.
