Did EK ever end up re-releasing another block?

Which other brands have a full cover block (including SB would be nice) for this R3G board?

    cheers

Nope. I just got a refund. Besides Phil, as if you'd buy an EK block at the moment.

    You buying a Gene?

Just wondering what else is out there because if i buy another brand chipset block, i have to buy the same brand the cpu and 2 gpu blocks and ram block. Being the brand:banana::banana::banana: that i am.

    I've said too much.

unless you really have to have mATX, order yourself up a P6T6 like me and Jay (maybe jay wants to sell his?) ing awesome boards, and you can get Koolance, Bitspower and MIPS chipset blocks, should you want to.

if you have to go mATX, im not sure id recommend the gene for watercooling, the gene is a great board, but it does run warm, and my EK chipset block fried my board, as you can read in this thread.
unless you want to order yourself a set of MIPS for it *shrug*

I'm not really sure why you would need to water cool the north bridge or south bridge on the gene unless you just want to be able to say everything is under water... I own one and just put a spot cool on the NB which keeps it well under 60 C with 1.25v going to it. The SB also stays under 60 without assistance from any fans

Nah can't justify $400 just for the board. Not worth it imo.

Didn't your block not make contact with the VRM's or something? Also the mips blocks appear to be in 3 pieces worried south bridge block will block either the 1st or 2nd pci-e, do you know if it will?

Also when can i find a Lian Li PC-A05N?

skip the SB. you dont need it. my block made contact at the vrm and shorted something so it wouldnt boot. i tightened it, and somehow it fried my X58.

    I see.

Yeah i'll probably just skip watercooling the board all together, too much hassle.

And i don't want your HF.

Well I didn’t take your advice lol instead I spoke to EK myself and had them send me a waterblock and with careful steps and insulating certain parts of the motherboard the waterblock works like a charm

I wouldn't touch an EK block at the moment, But hey, best of luck with it. It was hard to say. The blocks worked on some boards and fried others.

Well I insulated all the parts of the motherboard which arnt going to be cooled by the waterblock, mainly all the parts around the NB just used insulation tape for now just wanted to test it and it works might change out all the tape for something else, maybe what people use when using dry ice. Also the screws arent to tight.

The tape was placed on the waterblock itself but this again is only a temp solution just to see if it works. I will be over the next week replacing the tape and i will take some photos of what i did.

Maybe i just got lucky with my MB i mean its one of the first once that came out had it on pre-order, or maybe i just took more care.

All i know is that it worked for me

You did a lot of extra work that shouldn't have been needed and you got lucky.
    Circles SucQ!

If your annoyed by sigs telling you to put things in your sig, then put this in your sig

Bribery won't work on me...just say NO to AT!!!

Ya thats true but in the end it worked, i mean these people cant always get it right, and from now on i think i will be still insulating parts of the motherboard that dont need to be cooled, its much better and it works

sorry for not talking about the waterblock for this awesome motherboard... but since a lot of people use this motherboard i have a question, i have disabeld the intel speedstep but it still keeps ing up my core speed... (I7 930) it is standard 2.8 Ghz but it clocks back to 1600 mhz until i start doing something and then it goes up... normally u just disable speedstep and problem solved... but i want to disable it because i wanna overclock it :P and need 100% speed for stress testing...

You need to disable C1E , SpeedStep and C-State Tech options to always run at full speed. I run my my board with an i7-950 at 4 GHz and I keep those options enabled
