That was the first bandaid that the guys at xda came up with to make the gps usuable. Samsung did some tweaking in the jh2/jh3 rom, which improved it a lot, but it still isnt fixed. From what ive read in the captivate forums 1 in like 10 guys claim that the gps works as it should which just tells me most likely that minority does quite know what to expect. I think there is a lot of hope samsung will have the gps reworked with the release of froyo near the end of september as it is a big move.

The screen image quality overall sucks compared to my Motorola Droid but the increase in size pretty much makes up for it. It's nice and light too

I've already got mine rooted and now I just wait and pray Crystal Clear ROMs is working on a ROM for Fascinate

    root and uninstall
Maybe its just the facinate but the captivates screen is definitely better than the droids. Maybe you just need to play a high def movie with a lot of color and special effects. Its a beautiful thing and even more so due to the fact that its on a phone. The pentile matrix is the only negative aspect about the s-amoled screen and even then its only really noticable if you hold the screen and inch from your face lol

Well.... it has a larger screen while keeping the same resolution so there is more pixelation especially on small text and some website with small text are unreadable until you zoom in. On the droid no matter how small the text is it's still crystal clear. The colors on the Galaxy S aren't "better" they are just more saturated and vivid. The colors are actually more accurate on the original Droid. The IPS screen on the Droid is also the best screen available for outdoor viewing. Though the Galaxy S AMOLED screens still perform great in outdoor light.

Can you take pictures of both displaying the same image. When i see my brother next time i can do it but my camera isnt quite as fancy.

@buckeye. It seems with smartphones you have to modify a certain config file and then compile it into a kernel to overclock your cpu. Supposedly these cpus can go up to 1.6ghz but it seems no one has pushed it that far yet. If you havent gone to the XDA developers forums yet you need to. They with probably have an overclock mod soon for the epic if they havent already ported one of the ones out now.

    Thanks

I really just wanted to play around with that, it runs just fine with out overclocking it. I would assume that would really eat into your battery life by doing so. Its a very snappy phone compared to the iPhone I had.

I had not noticed a difference in battery life. The screen is whats going to eat your battery and the cpu throttles itself so the bump shouldnt make a huge impact.
