Me? nah ... I'm no farmer and I am really not any good at recruiting. I'm just running a couple of decent rigs and trying to keep it that way. I just dabble in some of the stuff you guys live (one machine is headless and caseless) and try to plan my next moves for the best crunching I can do. The science is the important part but sometime cruching is, quite frankly, boring. Sometimes I have no crashes, OC tweaks, software tweaks, hardware installs, driver updates for a few weeks so I like to keep track of badges, points, and occasionally talk a bit of trash to keep my interest going.
123Sarah ... twist his arm into the badazz rig you deserve

You know, sometimes I think "I wish I was more involved with doing something interesting on all these machines, really make them work" as if WCG isn't. Then I think that if I wanted to be more involved in my crunching, I could do more F@H... And remember what's so good about WCG. Easy way to contribute !

hey don ... I was just getting close to take your #25 RAC position and you went and upped your game a whole bunch
I don;t have anything to counter with at this time so enjoy
According to WCG website Ive done 1M points. :p. Even though I have not yet plunged the German muscle I will ASAP. If I dont give 200% of effort ( at the time being ) I can get kicked out of school . I will kick in a smart giga board into the special cpu sumed up to the 5 cores my buddy has running 24/7 under his account but is willing to donate to mine :P
I am not really into big numbers into a small time frame at the time being but will gain some positions for sure.
--> 200 Ghz working 24/7 to kick diseases right where it hurts
Envy me already? No problem, I'll send you my power bill and you'll instantly feel better

I'm going to get 100 eventually..maybe a month or two. In february, I'll be adding another machine. I'm going to try to catch ya SnowCrash
I'll be keeping my eye out for you ... we'll see what happens then (maybe i9?)
Oh ... by the way, I have a GTX 285 on the way so you will have a bit of work to do at GPUGrid there also.
I appreciate that you are not home right now to stifle my rivalry nonsense right now but I think both our systems are fairly well matched (in both WCG and GPU) so we will have to see how it all shapes up
Till then I'm gonna try to bank as many points as I can to hold you off
@jcool ... that is an admirable goal ... with your passion for multi-socket boards I can't say I would be surprised when you finally get there

Me, I'm gonna try and get into the Top10.. no easy task, let me tell ya.
I'm quite sure you'll make it, particularly now that we are done traveling around with rigs... You've got some wicked rigs. ( I have one quad still at Tech Reaction chugging away.)
@SC, congrats in advance on the pass. You should pass Sarah today.
Martjn, look out, the Snow Crash avalanche is coming!!
Bob

A note on stats. Most of you already know this...maybe some don't.
It was asked before what we are using for stats. I use the Free-DC page here, for the purpose of this thread. That page shows a member's total individual contribution to WCG, regardless of what team they may have been on in the past. It also shows only those who are currently on the team. It does not show those who travel around, like Rammie, when they go off on their trips.
The team page at the WCG site here, shows the contribution a member has made to the XS team. They may not match if a member has been on other teams.
For example, Snow Crash is about to run over Sarah on the Free-DC page, which shows SC's total points. However, on the WCG page (portion from 101th place shown below), he has a way to go since Sarah has only crunched for XS, and I must conclude that SC has crunched on another team, or independently, before. Note also that Sarah is not 94th place on the WCG page either. This is because the WCG page also shows members who have left the team. Look at Rammie, he comes and goes all the time. He is currently on a mission, I think at TPU the last time I looked.
For the purposes of our cheering and jeering each other, most of us go with the Free-DC type pages. It's fine for the goofing around we do, since as SC points out, crunching stable rigs is about as exciting as watching grass grow.
I think the most important thing is to never take any of this point stuff too seriously. For me, we are all teammates here and we are working to cure diseases, not gather points.
Regards,
Bob

Thanks for that link bob, I hadn't been using it and as a result had not seen, in black and white, the output for my folding rig cpu, the 5050e, in a word ...ridiculous. Bought as a low power cpu to keep the gpu's running I hadn't thought much til now about replacing it but going on from that link to ... http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?p...cg&name=596475 has given me a load more detailed info so thanks again.

I know what you mean, I do not have anything like your farm, but I have been fighting hard to make it up the ladder. I am currently 38 I believe and its hard from where I am at. slowly but surely

Well, if my systems were ever all working properly, i'd be putting out 10k plus boinc points a day in wcg and north of 55k points a day on gpugrid. It is however a lot of babysitting for my wife to do and my gtx 295 just will not crunch with any kind of consistency. I'm likely going to sell it when i get back. I have multi monitor setups so i need a 5870x2. I hope they have thsoe working in gpugrid by feb. i may pick up a fermi after i sell my gtx 295 and gtx 275.
As for the core i-9...if it's out, I will likely buy one. That is unless they cost more than 500 or so.
