you cant compare market share values with windows success. most people own pcs in their home. windows will always remain until another format such as linux takes over. mac and pc have slowly become more compatible over the years since mac realized they sucked at making processors; but even then mac is limited.

not to mention the markets itself have been in complete turmoil since 08. read any investors blog, major mass media etc. The normal trader isnt trading, only banks and other big institutions are doing any market trading. Its a mask, and besides most investors agree the fed manipulates the market.

I think you have to look at it on the financial side too, you have to realize how much money Apple is making everytime they sell an ipod, iphone, imac or macbook and that is a lot of money. They do it very smart, overprice their stuff (you have to admit it looks great though) and people still buy it. Maybe the hardware isnt better and neither the OS, but they are still making boatloads of money and that is what is important in the end. It's like comparing Ferrari to Ford, who makes the most money of the two compared to the amount of stuff they have to sell to achieve it? All the PC makes have the same offerings and have to compete on price and slash their income, Apple does not have to do that. So 5% or 90% market share, who cares if you make more money than any other actor in the industry?
