2x5850 or 2x5870. I would go with the former as it's more price/performance friendly.
A single 5870 will get you by in most games, but it isn't going to run Crysis without noticeable FPS drops at native res. Same with STALKER: Clear Sky.
Bulldozer can't show up fast enough either. Bulldozer better live up to THIS: Image
It will either make history or make AMD history if it doesn't. Intel's thread count is getting higher than Fugger's bed sheets!
I read alot of review about 5850. It's actually run cooler than 5870 and like 10% weaker than 5870 if your budge is limit get one of it first then get another one when you have more money. But I recommend you go with 5870 though
ASUS 5850's, and with the money you save buy a WC kit and try for 1.1GHz

It seems that most of you don't understand simple marketing, honestly, a good company will always go for the biggest market, no matter what, it gives them the most profit and reaches out to more people. If this means the PC version of a game is scrapped or is just a simple port, then so be it. Stop your whining.
Pretty much what nvidia is saying with Fermi; "We've got a good octo-SLI driver and we're not letting you have it "
